To the lady speeding south past JJ Flynn in the black Honda CRV, I only got a partial on your plate. You are what is wrong with this world. Your job, meeting or grocery shopping is more important than the safety of children walking to school. Shame on you!
Some may say this is not very neighborly, but I am tired of the lack of respect I see on a daily when dropping off or waiting on pick up. I see cars speeding southbound past Flynn as I’m exiting the lot in the morning and in the afternoon heading northbound waiting to turn into Flynn North Avenue pick up lot, people will make a third lane and drive down the center of the road because they’re too impatient to wait.) I’ve seen company vehicles, individual cars and CCTA buses using this method. You then have to drive very defensively before turning into the pick area, ie check your rearview mirror to make sure no one‘s coming in that third ILLEGAL lane! The police may not be able to help in these situations due to the lack of officers but I believe if enough neighbors get upset about the speed and careless driving around our schools maybe we’ll be able to make a change.
