The traffic light pattern frequently causes traffic driving north on Beacon Street to be stopped for two or even three cycles without getting a green light. I've noticed this problem literally for years, but just five minutes ago I had this happen again: traffic driving south on Beacon Street had a green, then a red as east-west traffic flowed on Cochituate ... then southbound traffic on Beacon got another green, while northbound traffic on Beacon still had a red, then a pedestrian used the crossing, then Cochituate east-west got another green, then Beacon southbound got another green ... and by this point I think I lost track of how many times this went on before I got a green.
