I have a broken sewer pipe under the street in front of my house that keeps getting clogged with dirt & roots. I had my sewer sleeved 15 years ago and paid $3,000 then find out my neighbor is tied into my sewer, so I couldn't go all the way to the main. The Lateral from my sidewalk to the main is cracked. Every time I do laundry or there is a heavy rain, my sewer backs up. I have spent over $15,000 throughout the years on plumbers and consider this a major health issue. I've had it snaked out 5 times since September alone, and every time the line gets open the worse sewer stench permeates my home! I have called the Inkster police after hours, left numerous voice mails with DPW, and only once did a lady call me back and said the phones were busy, but she would call me back on Monday....that was 2 weeks ago! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME AND TELL ME WHAT TO DO? I NEED TO HAVE THIS FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. DOES MY NEIGHBOR HAVE TO PAY HALF TO DIG UP THE STREET SINCE WE ARE CONNECTED? AM I SUPPOSED TO HIRE A CONTRACTOR TO DO IT, OR DOES THE CITY NEED TO BE INVOLVED? IS THE CITY RESPONSIBLE FOR UNDER THE STREET? SO MANY QUESTIONS, AND NO ONE WILL ANSWER ANY OF THEM AND HELP ME!

I've called the ordinance office quite a few times but no one has came to clean this up. It's been this way since June. Can someone from the City please come and clean this up? There is also brush piles on the other side of the road.
