My and my neighbor’s backyards have been flooded for weeks now. Although there was minimal flooding at times, it would absorb or drain relatively quickly. Ever since the city paved the alley (without ever talking to me or my neighbors) with asphalt, without surveying it, our yards’ flooding has not relented. The water has come very close to my home and has gone into the subfloor of my shed which is elevated on a slab. A couple of my neighbors and concerned with the potential of mosquitoes and I have noticed that the ground covered continuously with water has lowered. Please address this drainage problem that our city workers have significantly exacerbated and before it causes further problems.
