Christie Park Emeryville, California - Emeryville

Man, usually wearing puffy blue coat and or eye glasses. Likes to use a "ball launcher" to throw a ball for his large dog to chase across the entirety of Christie Park. Usually there in the evening 6-8pm. I see him and his dog here often.

There are signs posted stating "dogs in the dog park only".

Usually I don't mind and happily walk by the fellow. Unfortunately on the evening of 5/30/2019 this man decided to use his ball launcher to launch the ball directly at me as I walked on the other side of the park. The ball landed several feet to my right and his large dog came running at me full speed. As I was the only other person around, it seemed overtly rude and aggressive.

As I was passing him on my way back to my apartment. I asked in a neutral and friendly tone. If he had seen the notice regarding dogs.

In response he angrily accosted me. Threw some epithets and curse words my way, and informed me that he had a PhD. Always nice to meet the neighbors.

Would like to see better signage and enforcement of leash law. Too many people living around here for large dogs to be running at large in such a small park. Especially those with such questionable owners.

    Stay Classy E'ville!

The new street markings look nice! Unfortunately, now I keep almost getting run over in the Powell crosswalk by people rapidly turning west on Powell off of Christie. Used to never happen. I've almost been hit 3 times already since the painting. Very weird. I think people go through the intersection much faster now due to the new clearly marked lanes. Might want to take a look at this before something serious happens.
