no more patches. Please repair this street properly. Been over 24 years since repaired or repaved. I forget telling me about a backlog, I have been hearing that for 15 years. I have waited long enough. This time I slipped and fell walking here.

I would like to request that the City of Oakland examine methods for trying to reduce the amount of Northbound Hwy 13 traffic that dumps though Montclair's Mountain and Moraga Blvd roads in the afternoons, often starting before 2 PM.

Because of excessive traffic and backups on 13 North, WAY TOO MANY cars are exiting both at Joaquin Miller Road and taking Mountain Blvd north, as well as exiting at Park Blvd onto Mountain Blvd heading North. These cars almost all drive to the 13 North ramp on Moraga Blvd, or take Mountain Blvd down to the Broadway Terrace entrance.

Traffic on Moraga and Mountain in the afternoons is completely backed up. In addition, many cars in the left lane on Moraga are trying to merge left AFTER Thornhill, causing additional backup on Moraga by blocking both lanes trying to enter the freeway.

The intersection of Broadway Terrace and Pinewood, where the 13th North ramp is also completely gridlocked with the addition of cars exiting 13 North at Broadway Terrace, and then trying to get back onto the freeway. This intersection can be completely blocked at times.

I am suggesting LONGER red light times on Moraga and Mountain Blvds during commute times, as well as speed bumps along Mountain between the Moraga Split, past the schools (which need it) all the way to Broadway Terrace. The City of Oakland needs to do what it can to discourage Hyw 13 North traffic from dumping onto city streets and completely clogging up Montclair and surrounding neighborhoods. It has gotten VERY bad.

Lastly, additional traffic enforcement in the afternoon along Mountain and Moraga in Montclair may help the issue. If these people, who run the red lights (saw several today) at the exit, and speed when they can down Moraga, might deter people from taking the exit.

Someone said they wanted the signals made longer to allow more rush hour traffic to move. I am suggesting longer REDs to discourage this traffic from using city streets as an alternative to the freeway.

Hello Oakland, any one home? While you are all too busy spending out street tax dollars on stupid road diets and adding congestion, the streets in the hills are falling apart.

This road has not been paved in over 23 (TWENTY THREE!!!!) YEARS. It was overlooked the last time Oakland paved streets in this area. It needs major repairs all along its short length.

Please respect your tax paying citizens up here in the hills and fix these roads. These potholes and missing pavement have already cost me over $6000 in car repairs.

Please resurface this road now. I believe 23 years is plenty of time to be on your "backlog", especially as you are spendfing so much road money on those stupid bike lane traffic reductions that can wait.

Once again, the garbage trucks going to fast have damaged the street. This is throwing large hunts of rock as people drive over it. It is also quite slippery at times. Need to be patched.

There are two large City of Oakland recycle cans near Pete"s Coffee in Montclair. The openings are taped over with signs saying out of order.

What exactly breaks on a recycle bin? These take up a lot of sidewalk space and now look quite ugly. If they don't work and can't be repaired, can we get them removed please. I would rather see them operational.

This small street behind my house has not even been repaired in the 21 years I have lived here and paid my taxes faithfully. Even the UPS driver said the other day that he may stop coming down the road because it is so bad. The tree roots and holes have already caused damage to my wife's car (two broken wheels) and cracked the transmission case on my Prius. We drive no faster than 5 MPH, and we are still bottoming out.

VERY TIRED of Oakland telling me that they have "priorities" for roads and I have to wait. Sorry, you did all the roads around here many years ago and MISSED this street. I think waiting 21 years to fix a street is enough time. So far, the potholes and missing pavement on this road are causing major problems.

I'm happy to contract to fix it myself, but want the costs removed from my tax bill if you can't do it yourself. Do we have to sue the city and spend even more money to get the services we pay for?

This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. This road used to be two lanes. Now it it one, with a VERY empty bike lane. In fact, we drive this road all the time. NEVER seen a bike on it. Even at rush hour. But today, I did see 4 or 5 cars driving up the bike lane, tired of sitting in bumper to bumper, non-moving traffic. This was a total waste of money, has snarled traffic on this road like crazy, and is encouraging people to violate the law. Please return this road to the two lanes it was before. This change helped no one!

On Merriewood Dr about 600 feet after the intersection of Valley View Dr, people are parking now on both sides of the road making the pass so narrow, my small car can nearly fit. Today, I could not fit. This is also one of the main roads a fire engine would have to travel to reach our home further up Merriewood. Parking restrictions are needed on this small section of the hill. Currently, no parking on one side starts several hundred feet past this area. I believe the no parking must either be extended, or a no parking sign is needed on the opposite side of the roars where recently people have begun to park.

Thank you to the City of Oakland for the attempt, but you get the grade F- for this "work"! You REQUIRED me to do 100 times better when repairing the street in front of our house for a sewer repair, and then you do a VERY CRAPPY job fixing a only a small part of the problem when you do it. As a tax payer, I DEMAND that your own repair crews be held to at least the same standard you demanded of my crew when fixing the street. The poorly filled holes are sinking again because the tar was not rolled flat and pressed in. It was simply shoveled lightly. The top surface is still missing on 70% or more of the street entrance, causing it to further cone apart and get worse. Cars are still bottoming out causing damage. This street has not been resurfaced in more than 18 years. Do I have to sue they city to get this done correctly?

It has been over 17 years since this street has been paved or patched. The pot holes, reports many times over the last 5 years continue to get larger. At 5 MPH, these holes did over $1500 damage to my car. Garbage trucks damage this street more each week.

Enough excuses Oakland. I know you have "priorities", but this street has not been repaired since I have lived here, more than 17 years. NEVER! It is now a hazard and I am considering a law suit against Oakland for the damage to both my car and my wife's car. Total over $5000 worth of damage.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! This street needs to be repaired NOW!

At the end of the North 13 Thornhill Exit, there USED to be two NO RIGHT TURN signs. ONE IS NOW MISSING. However, these signs have always been placed incorrectly. They can be seen before you get to the intersection, but when sitting at the signal, no sign is visible. It seems people's memory is very short, and many are making this right turn. Or I should say, trying to make this right turn. The street is too narrow for a right turn, and cars often end up blocking the road or traffic leaving the exit.

A new NO RIGHT TURN sign needs to be placed on the right signal pole facing the lead car waiting at the stop (see images). I see approximately 10 to 15 right turns here a week, several nearly causing accidents.
