Drivers harass cyclists riding LEGALLY down Central avenue despite very clear signage indicating bikes may use full lane and that passing is illegal.

I commute by bike regularly, and use bike lanes whenever possible. I often ride from Grand Central to my home in Historic Uptown as part of my daily commute. I get harassed frequently - honked at, yelled at, tailgated, illegally passed. Once I even had someone, after several blocks of honking at me, when they finally had room to (ILLEGALLY) pass me, they swerved at me on their way around me and nearly caused me to run into a parked car. Just yesterday, on my way home I rode around Mirror Lake Drive, in the right hand side of the lane. There was no traffic; there's very rarely any other vehicles on the road. Someone decided to yell expletives at me as they passed, despite the fact that I was in no way impeding the non-existent traffic.

I understand that some aspects of this, i.e. driving dangerously, are law enforcement issues and I have considered wearing a Go Pro to catch some offenders in the act. But it all stems from the fact that motorists feel that bicycles don't belong on the road at all.

When I am riding legally, on a street designated for bicycle use, I don't want to be harassed. There needs to be a public educational project regarding the right of cyclists.

The city parks along the waterfront have inadequate recycling facilities - it's almost impossible to find a recycling bin when needed. Moreover, the trash receptacles, due to a design flaw, often scatter the trash on windy days because the bags blow inside out. They need lids or some other device to keep the trash where it belongs.
