the storm water catch basin of Sewall near Washington Ave in laurel has not drained since the last heavy rain. It appears that the drainage pipe at the base pf the basin is clogged. Concern is for breeding of mosquitoes.

There are at least three major contributors of storm water to the catch basin at Sewell and Washington Avenues. On the east side of Sewall with ultimate drainage in to the Patuxent. The stream draining into the basin from the southeast and to a lesser extent from the northeast carries large amounts of trash into the basin, and when the water recedes this trash is left on the surrounding ground. This represents an ugly image, and more importantly a breeding area for mosquitoes and other vector bprne diseases. Request that this area be cleaned up periodically to remove this health hazard.
