Fire season is creeping on us FAST, and with California’s history of wild fires; I’d hate to see Mare Island go up in flames. There are weeds 6+ feet tall in some areas and could surely be fuel for any fire. Besides the fact of fire’s fuel, the weeds are unpleasant to see for those living on Mare Island and paying their HOA fees.

Weeds at Farragut and Wilson next to the liquor store are very tall and we will be coming into fire season soon. Please knock down. Thank you.

I’m not sure of the timeline, but it seems that the past 4-5 years the landscape never really jumped out at me because it seemed to be under control. Now the landscape within this city does jump out at me, and not in a positive way. There are tall and overgrown weeds EVERYWHERE! What has changed?

I talked to the fire fighters at the station on Mini & Corcoran in regards to the field behind their station, and they informed me that it’s the city of Vallejo’s responsibility to maintain it. So here I am...the weeds are literally taller than the cars (6ft+)! Can we get the landscape under control not only here but city wide?

Since I’m new to this app, I figured I’d start off close to home to see how fast it gets handled. Years ago I had a discussion with Vince who addressed himself as the Grounds Supervisor; he informed me that the dead ends off of Candy, Lobelia, Aster and Marigold were city of Vallejo property. Luckily for me, I only had to have this discussion 1 time with him and noticed the routine maintenance in this area of town would follow. The guard rails were always cleared and made to be a pleasant sight at the end of our streets overlooking the marsh.

After reading other issues, and seeing their responses, I’m assuming Keith, Grounds is the new Supervisor? Can we get some attention out here?
