The recent crack filling on The Hwy between MP2 and 21 has created a hazard for bicycle traffic. The repairs are significantly above road grade and create a unsafe condition., especially at speed coming down. They are so jolting that I cracked my bike frame last week. Other cyclists have reported back pain from the bumps. The only safe way down is to ride in the main traffic groove. This puts riders in the way of cars. The gravel from the chip seal on the sides of the road created a crash hazard.
, so we cannot move over to let traffic by safely. The repairs need to be ground level and the road swept. This road attracts 100s of cyclist weekly and safety of the road has always been really good. I`m afraid the conditions are going to lead to accidents from cyclists loosing control.
