Getting worse every day. Garbage spilling onto sidewalk and into street. What gives? Slumlords here untouchable? Why is that?

This situation gets worse daily as more and more garbage piles up, blocking the sidewalk and now spilling into the street. Brewster is a gateway to Black Rock. But it’s more like the neighborhood anus north of Fairfield Ave., even though most landlords do a better job than 700’s do. Why does the city ignore this?

The trucks coming in and out of O&G tore up the road outside their plant. City does nothing. Maybe O&G can resurface what they have destroyed, like good neighbors.

Store employees use a leaf blower to blow massive amounts of trash from their lot onto Ellsworth Street. Repeat offenders despite requests that they stop.

Stop sign at NE corner of Ellsworth and Hackley completely blocked by overgrown weeds. Landlord won’t rectify. Very dangerous one block away from Ellsworth Field.

Our trash bin was damaged 6 weeks ago when the wheels came off after it was dropped back to the street from the truck.

We have contacted public facilities repeatedly -- four times via email and phone calls -- to request a replacement. Crickets.

So I drove over the North Washington Avenue and made a request in person. The worker at the desk was very courteous, and assured me he would make his supervisor aware, to leave the old bin out and that it would be replaced in a couple days.

That was 3 weeks ago. Why do I have to jump through all of these hoops to get a damaged trash bin replaced?

I've lived in this city my whole life, so incompetence and mistreating taxpayers doesn't surprise me. But can your department get its act together and get us a damn trash bin?
