Public Heath Hazard Alert- Piles of several used/trashed mattresses and other furniture by the dumpster under the overpass across from the homeless encampment. This trash needs to be removed, especially since there is active CoH drainage improvement construction going on adjacent.

The couch now has Graffiti on it. Need this to be removed.
  • Jackson St & Mcgowen St Houston, TX, 77004, USA - Midtown

A sofa has been dumped at on McGowen and Jackson by the parking lot. Vagrants have taken the cushions per the photo and have been sleeping on them next too/inside the CPY lot.

There is now more trash piling on the couch including a bedframe.

The couch and the couch cushions propped on the side of the building need to be removed.

Whatever neighbor disposed of the couch there should be ashamed of their laziness to properly dispose of trash, and encourage people to sleep there.

If a resident needs to dispose of a large item of furniture, are there City resources who can help dispose of them?

Went for a run, absolutely disgusted by what I see in front of Rose Gold Cocktail den.

Could not run down the sidewalk on Main because of the vagrants loitering on the corner. Open alcohol containers, broken glass, people passed out on the sidewalk, smells like urine, people violently yelling at each other.

Not sure why this specific corner accumulates and attracts these people, but I took a detour around the block.

If we call, can Seal security or precinct 7 drive by and get these people to relocate?

Increased number of tents under the over pass in the vagrant encampment.

I have lived here for going on 4 years and the encampment has recently been growing in size. I keep seeing new tents pop up, leading to increased foot traffic, peeping in cars, and theft in the neighborhood. This is a public health hazard and trespassing on property that is not owned by these inhabitants.

Who owns this property? Who is providing new tents to these people? Why is TxDot not putting a fence up under this overpass? What organization is allowing this activity on their property?

How can Midtown get rid of this encampment like the museum neighborhood got rid of the pierce street encampment?

Tired of seeing stolen BBikes, human waste, and trash under this overpass.

  • 2406 Caroline St Houston, TX, 77004, USA - Midtown

People occupying the public City sidewalks by living there, throwing their trash there, and personal belongings strewn about on public land. I am frustrated of walking my dog and having to detour or walk in the street ( safety hazard) to avoid being harassed and walking through the filth.

The entire street on Caroline from McGowen to Mclhenny has been occupied by vagrants. Some living in tents, some just living on the public sidewalk.

I called South Central PD and they asked me "what do you want me to do about it?" They mentioned the City has allowed tent camping wherever an individual chooses.

Does that include on the city sidewalks and in an active City construction project? This is ridiculous, these people are breaking the law.

Lots of trash in lot next to the bus stop. Where does this trash keep coming from? It seems confined to one area. This is not a reflection of the Midtown advertised here https://midtownhouston.com/

Abandoned car has been parked on the street in front of our house for going on two weeks. The car has become a target of theft, the battery was stolen out of it. The front bumper is now missing. Parts are getting removed from the car. There are no windows, and the blinker device is hanging on by a wire. It does not appear operable. I have called HPD non-emergency two days in a row, hopefully the third day they will take action and tow it. Any recommendations on what else to do to get it removed?

I take my dog to Glover park to play fetch, and there have been vagrants/ people sleeping and leaving trash on the wooden stage area next to the park.

Midtown installed electrical outlets that vagrants now use to charge their phones while they sleep and leave trash there, but no water fountain for the dog park?

A few weeks ago one individual approached another individual and the situation escalated enough to where I had to leave the park with my dog.

Pick up the trash, take away the electrical outlets to discourage people from sleeping there., put a water fountain at the dog park instead.

Utilities work was done, left this area with a standing water and trip hazard. Barricade tape is not barricading the hole. It's a good two feet if you step off the sidewalk and can cause serious injury to someone jogging/ walking their dog. Not to mention the standing water being a petri dish for mosquitoes.

I live a few blocks away from Hamilton and Grey street where the encampment under the overpass continues to get larger. Human feces and used toilet paper scattered. Increased frequency of occupants have begun wandering past our house and approaching us pan handling when we are outside.
