Georgia St is used by the Vallejo City Bus system. The road is severely damaged in many places but the section between Ashton St and Columbus Parkway is littered with significant breaks in the asphalt looking more like crocodile skin rather than a city thoroughfare. I understand that Vallejo is ranking streets for repair by level of degradation. However, Georgia St. is a major roadway used by private and public conveyances. This section should be repaired to ensure that the public thoroughfare can function properly.

Although I'm pointing out this specific corner at Georgia St. and Columbus Pkwy, residents are risking their lives driving on our streets. In my 55+ years of driving I've NEVER seen such blatant and increasing disregard for obeying traffic lights and stop signs. This isn't just me. I've been taking informal polls of random residents of all ages that I meet around town and the overwhelming response is "Absolutely a serious and increasing problem.

I've spoken with the Vallejo PD who tried to convince me that Columbus is the jurisdiction of the CHP. I called the CHP and the officer clarified that CHP has jurisdiction only over the on/off ramps from I680 and I80 so consequently, nothing has been done to mitigate this serious problem. I certainly don't want our city teeming with surveillance cameras and we certainly can't afford more VPD patrol officers at $200K each/yr!

What we do to consider is a physical barrier that will slow down traffic to the legal limits without significantly impeding overall traffic flow.

In general, and as has been shown throughout many other cities (and even close to Vallejo in Napa County) traffic circles eliminate the need for surveillance, increase driver's attention to oncoming traffic and are quite successful at slowing down traffic to legal limits without cyclically stopping the overall flow of traffic on all streets through the intersection. The result being that the mean (or average) legal speed is enforced while maintaining overall traffic flow around the circle.

Specifically for Columbus Pkwy there are a number of intersections along CPkwy that might benefit from traffic control circles: Georgia St., Springs Rd., Ascot Pkwy. E & W, Redwood St. and Adm. Callaghan. I understand this is not necessarily in this department's purview but would appreciate direction in which department I might speak with in Vallejo City Government. Thank you.

This has been previously described and the pile of trash is increasing and is starting to spill out onto Henry St. Please have someone pick this mess up.

This is a growing mess spilling out onto Maple at the Exxon Mobil Station. No one is responding. Please get that mess out of the street and off the sidewalk. Thank you

Traffic using Columbus Parkway to access East Vallejo and I-80 East treat the traffic signals at intersections, especially at Georgia and Springs Road as barriers that must be thwarted rather than obeyed. This is a very dangerous situation. COV needs to implement careful and comprehensive traffic monitoring all along Columbus Pkwy to gather real statistical data to verify this dangerous problem and to implement significant traffic flow measures to ensure that drivers obey the traffic signals and maintain legal speed limits.

The traffic sensor appears to be set incorrectly. Traffic stopped on Columbus Parkway at Ascot in BOTH DIRECTIONS with NO TRAFFIC on Ascot. 11:00AM
  • 2260 Sacramento St Vallejo, CA, 94590, USA - Vallejo
Traffic Signal timing appears to be corrupted. Waited at the light with traffic backing up behind for an excessive amount of time with no traffic on Scaramento.
  • Springs Rd & Vervais Ave Vallejo, CA, 94591, USA - Vallejo
The traffic sensor facing Vervais may not be functioning properly as the wait time on Vervais turning left onto Springs seems to be excessively long. I've note several times that even when there is very light traffic on Springs Rd. the light doesn't change for at least 1 minute or more.
