A bike rack has been placed on this section of the sidewalk, which will make it an even busier pedestrian area, but the city still has not addressed the flooding issue after years. It gets worse every winter and has been spreading as the entire sidewalk sinks. Hundreds of children use the sidewalk daily to get to the nearby daycares, the elementary school across the street, and the high school. This issue makes the sidewalk unfit for wheelchairs and strollers for much of the year, posing safety and accessibility issues.
