Local schools are competing for space at Hamilton Park. They are now using the enclosed tennis court for their children to play in.

Noise levels at this park for nearby residents are growing and have become intolerable the past year. Living across the street from the playground there is uninterrupted screaming from 9:30am until 7pm every day of the week including weekends.

Jersey city needs to begin considering options for either expanding the facilities here at Hamilton park to accomodate or looking for nearby solutions to bring these children elsewhere. They need to play. But not at the expense of the mental health of nearby tax payers.

They should also consider moving the playground in the future to a more neutral location. Currently is sits less than 100 feet away from resident windows and the noise is deafening. From time to time it’s ok. But this is all day, every day, and uninterrupted screaming (not always the playful, joyful screaming)
