Prior to the Playground renovation, there was a fence and gate around the big playground with a sign that stated that during school hours the playground was reserved for Sweet Apple Elementary. After the renovation, the fence/gate/sign were never replaced. As a teacher who takes students to this playground, I worry about the safety of our students with members of the public not knowing that this playground is off limits during school hours. I also worry as I saw parents with very young children allowing their kids to go to the playground with much older children -- was concerned a toddler was going to get run over by a student who has had indoor recess for the last two weeks! Would love to see this fence/gate replaced for the safety of both our students and community members.
