Another attack of woman walking under freeway over pass at 42nd and MLK . This encampment is becoming more dangerous but the day and reports are ignored. Encampment members are literally setting up lawn chairs to smoke crack in front of houses , people are forced to walk in the street and the trash and people in the street make it impossible to even drive down.

Encampment continuing to grow into neighborhood, the cities neglect has allowed our neighborhood to be trashed, drugs, human waste, open fires, theft, and people being assaulted by encampment members on their own properties is almost an everyday occurrence . Sidewalk on both sides of street are not accessible, cars can only drive one way. ?

Someone was shot and k*lled here over the weekend Residents living here have been begging for encampment to be removed for this exact reason, our otherwise safe neighborhood is now unsafe for all living, walking and driving through. There are countless reports and pleas to remove this encampment City officials have met with residents in neighborhood and promised housing for individuals would be available for going on two years now. Jothing had happened and this area has been completely ignored. Both sides of the street are occupied by encampment drug use, passed out drug users,giant hills of trash, human waste, old needles, active fires , and off leash dogs. Neighborinh houses have to remove trash, needles and people from this encampment from thier front porches daily. There are so many Rvs and so much trash only half if the street is drivable and you have to zig zag through to do that. This area is out of hand, this is a main walkway for elderly, children going to school, and families going to prayer at the Mosque who also has to neighbor this area. Every point of contact to close this encampment has been ignored for over a year. This encampment is out of hand and now is an encampment on one side of the street and a drug hang out on the other. Drug users offering kids drugs as they walk to school. Members of encampment are lined up down the street every morning smoking heroin. This is supposed to be a safe walking path for the schools on this street and elderly. The sidewalk is unwalkable and street is almost not drivable. The homeless encampments at 42nd and MLK continues to grow, spread drug paraphernalia trash , rats, human waste throughout the neighborhood and now fire. Members of this encampment are intentionally setting things on fire all day there is smoke under freeway and everyday the fire department comes to out out a fires. Tents and porta potties are now setup in the street, you can barely drive let alone walk. This is going on a year of the neighborhood asking for the complete closure on both sides of the street and the city continues to ignore the issue here. Remove this encampment not safe for the housed or unhoused people living here.
