The bike lanes on North Ave from Battery to Plattsburgh Ave are full of debris. Sweep please!
  • 1130 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
    Sidewalk sweeping needed along here.
  • 1226 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
I can't tell if North Ave has been swept already, but there is still a lot of debris in the bike lanes.
  • 1409 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Seen yesterday. Low hanging wire close to sidewalk and at waist height in yard.
  • 39 Edgemoor Dr Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
All of North Ave in the NNE is in desperate need of sweeping in the bike lanes. Gravel is inches deep in some places.
  • 1555 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Drivers are constantly parked on the sidewalk in front of the gas pumps in this location, despite there being ample parking provided in the gas station lot. This creates hazards and visibility issues for people walking, biking, and driving. Could the city install some bollards or at least flexposts to delineate the sidewalk from the gas station property? Please do not assign this to enforcement—this needs an engineering solution.
  • North Ave & Woodbury Rd Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Beg button is missing its button. Walk signal cannot be requested to cross North Ave from the corner of Woodbury Rd. This crossing is essential for students to get to school at Hunt and CP Smith, so please fix asap!

    Need moar bike parking plz!!!!
  • 1416 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Really, really bad construction signage here.
    - Major issue is that the work sign was evidently placed in the bike lane, creating a hazard for people bicycling, and requiring people walking, who will inevitably bypass the construction by walking in the roadway, to step farther into the road.
    - Sidewalk closed ahead signs should really be placed at the corner of Cross Pkwy and farther north on North Ave so that walkers know to cross at the closest crosswalk at Cayuga, and also farther to the south.
  • 2-160 Ethan Allen Pkwy Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric

I am opening another request for pedestrian signal safety improvement at this crossing because my previous request was archived.

The pedestrian signal to cross North Ave on the north side of the North Ave/Ethan Allen intersection is concurrent with a green light on Ethan Allen Pkwy. Drivers heading southbound on Ethan Allen Pkwy and turning right to head north on North Ave have very poor line of sight on this crosswalk and pass through it while the walk signal is active. It should have a LPI or full exclusive phasing, and there should be no right on red off Ethan Allen Pkwy southbound as this poses a danger to people crossing.

Engineering previously commented that this crossing is safe due to the low turning speed of drivers and the infrequency of this movement. Turning speeds may be low, but by the time a driver has a good sightline on the crosswalk, especially considering the various poles and bushes obstructing the view, not to mention vehicle blind spots, they are practically in the crosswalk. Additionally, I do not think this movement is as uncommon as engineering believes. Many vehicles seem to make this turn when traveling from Ethan Allen Pkwy neighborhoods to the Hannaford Plaza.

  • Leddy Park Rd Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
A safe route is needed for people walking and biking to access Leddy Park from North Ave. Leddy Park Rd does not have continuous sidewalk and cars frequently speed on it, as has been noted by other neighbors in separate requests. The entrance from the Hannaford Plaza is not signed and doubtfully is ADA compliant even during the summer. In the winter, the path is often solid ice and the entrance may get plowed in.
  • 1093-1119 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
There is no clearly marked button to request a walk signal when crossing northbound on the west side of this intersection. If the button on the signal post triggers an exclusive phase, then there should be better signage to indicate that it should be used to request a northbound walk signal. Its orientation on the pole suggests that it is for the eastbound crossing only, and there is no signage to suggest otherwise.

  • Ethan Allen Pkwy & North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
The walk signal to cross EA Parkway northbound on North Ave. is not working. There was a blinking yellow arrow to turn right onto Ethan Allen from northbound on North Ave on 11/29 when this problem was noticed. Not sure if this issue is related to the blinking arrow being on or not.
  • North Ave & Northgate Rd Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
There are sidewalks on both sides on North Ave here, but there really needs to be a crosswalk. Also there are no curb ramps.
  • 1555 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
This is a chronic issue in front of the Jolley North Ave. Drivers often park on the sidewalk, likely because there is no delineation between it and the gas station lot.
  • 815 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
Couch and other household refuse is blocking the sidewalk and spilling into the bike lane.
  • 976 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
The bike sensor for the traffic light exiting Ethan Allen Park is working great, but the paint is gone so most folks will probably not know it's there.

Monroe St & Park St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Simon's sandwich board sign is blocking the ramp between the sidewalk and crosswalk, which will make it very difficult for anyone in a wheelchair to cross the street. I was in my car, or else I would have moved it! Thank you!
