    email: Good Afternoon

We own a home at 1611 28th street S in St Pete.

The neighboring home is abandoned and has had a tree limb through the roof since last hurricane season. The power line was also taken down and is still laying on the roof of the home under the limb. The power pole where the power line is connected to our home as well as the abandoned home is on the fence line at the rear of our property. The pole is wedged against a large tree and looks as though it has disintegrated to a point of no return.

We created a tree trimming ticket with Duke Energy but to our surprise, the ticket has been closed with nothing done to mitigate the issue. “ The text message says trimming has been complete. For more information go to the web site and reference the ticket number 48127144. Apparently the wires affected are not considered tree trimming request issues and are just part or regular maintenance. If this was the reason to not address the issue, it probably needs to be considered more than just a secondary concern and treated as the safety issue it actually is.

We need assistance. This is a life safety issue and needs to be addressed. If the power company isn’t interested in helping home owners, we are hoping a city department would have a direct contact with Duke Energy and could help.
