At night, the traffic light at the corner of Morris Ave. and North Ave is ridiculous! Heading from Union into Elizabeth on Morris Ave. (NJ-82), you have to wait a standard time for the light to change EVEN when there are NO CARS traveling on North Ave. (NJ-439)! Why are there sensors on the lights if they don't work and moving traffic is ALWAYS extended for the North Ave drivers, which by the way, is only a County road, NJ-439, while the Morris Ave drivers going straight on a STATE HIGHWAY, NJ-82, have to sit as if there are NO SENSORS!
When I approach the light, if I am NOT NEAR enough for the SENSOR to see me, the traffic light will change immediately from green to red!
So, the sensors ONLY work if traveling on the State Highway, Morris Ave. - BUT the sensors DO NOT WORK for the County road traffic, North Ave. I travel this highway around 11pm every night and I hate this inefficient traffic light system.
Please get the sensors to work for traffic traveling on North Ave so I don't have to sit and wait at the light for 3 minutes while there are NO CARS traveling on North Ave!!!!
