5500-5598 Bancroft Ave Oakland, CA, 94605, USA - Seminary
garbage dump (with homeless person actively moving the garbage around) has taken over the sidewalk, parking lane, and bicycle lane on the north side of Bancroft Ave from the corner of Hilton St extending about 100' west
  • 2430 68th Ave Oakland, California, 94605 - Hegenberger

Dark (blue? black?) Mazda 3, license 7JVX494, expired tag, parked in this location since at least March 25.

The street sweepers (1st & 3rd Tuesday afternoons) have had to go around this vehicle three times now (and yet somehow it has not been ticketed even once..)

  • 68th Ave & Flora St Oakland, CA, 94621, USA - Hegenberger

The garbage man is back! Our neighborhood is once again being blighted by this gentleman, his newest vehicle, and all the garbage he usually surrounds it with. This time he has returned to one of his favorite locations, the northeast side of Flora Street, adjacent to the home at 1600 68th ave. (He has been a frequent visitor to our midst over the last few years, parking his car in this location or the corner of Avenal and 68th ave, and leaving it there, along with all his debris, for weeks or months. A quick search of SeeClickFix for these locations will show plenty of complaints about this man, his usually wrecked cars, and his ever-spreading junkyard, which often blocks parts of the roadway, adjacent parking spaces, and the sidewalk.)

The car he's using this time is a red Chevrolet HHR, California plate 6BKF905, and it has certainly been parked there more than 72 hours.

Silver Hyundai sedan with no license plates, full of garbage (overflowing onto sidewalk and street) has been parked at this location for over a week. I witnessed the "gentleman" in the photo (next to the car) pouring out a box of yellow debris into the middle of the street (seen on roadway in photo). This is the same one-man garbage dump that shows up on Avenal Ave @ 68th and stays there for months at a time dumping garbage all around him while we wait (and wait.. and wait..) for the City to enforce its parking and blight regulations.
  • 6724 Avenal Ave Oakland, CA, 94605, USA - Hegenberger

After an all-too-brief absence, the usual rolling circus of crap has reappeared at its usual home on the curb in front of 6724 Avenal. (It was chased away to the other side of the street for about a month, then disappeared completely for maybe a week, before returning to its traditional home in front of 6724).

I assume there's a person living in this car - but it's not the car that's the problem, it's the ugly cloud of garbage that always swarms around (and under, and on top of) this (and other similar) cars. And of course the crap shown in my photos is just the start of this junk collection, which will grow daily. In the past I've seen multiple lawn mowers (why does a homeless guy need a lawn mower??), appliances, you name it.

Isn't it about time that the City of Oakland realizes that their fair city is one continuous garbage dump from border to border? They could send out a fleet of garbage trucks to do nothing more than prowl the streets 24x7x365 collecting all the piles of debris that area literally EVERYWHERE.. but instead, we play this charade - we, the victims (err, I mean citizens) of Oakland, have to report these problems one.. at.. a.. time. And the City takes its sweet time responding, one.. at.. a.. time. (I mean.. they send out street sweepers to every street twice a month, "whether it needs sweeping or not", and they must drive by and ignore hundreds of such piles of garbage daily.. Trade in the sweepers for garbage crews!!)

  • 6724 Avenal Ave Oakland, CA, 94605, USA - Hegenberger
piles of junk along the side of the road, next to (and inside, and underneath) a pair of cars that I don't think have been moved in months. I did not see appliances or mattresses but I did not take the time to inspect the garbage too thoroughly. This corner seems to attract dumping & abandoned cars on a continuous basis.
  • 3336-3680 Alameda Ave Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - South Kennedy Tract
Car parked for several days in handicap ramp/bike lane entrance. Cardboard license plate says 3LFK174.
  • Other City Services Acknowledged
6600 International Blvd Oakland, CA, 94621, USA - Bancroft Business-Havenscourt
Following reconstruction of International Blvd, traffic signal at 66th & Int'l is no longer properly coordinated with the traffic signal 30 feet away at Havenscourt & Int'l... specifically, the green turn arrows are no longer synchronized: right-turning traffic piles up in the middle of Int'l Blvd waiting all the way through the signal's cycle for the left-turn arrow to go green, resulting in jammed traffic in the left lanes of Int'l in each direction between the two intersections.
  • 6724 Avenal Ave Oakland, CA, 94605, USA - Hegenberger

Apparently abandoned vehicle (with expired tag - 6VYD598) surrounded by garbage & debris on public street, parked facing wrong way in front of 6725 Avenal.

Garbage extends far enough into the street to block bicycle traffic.
