The intersection of Buena Vista and Constitution is currently unsafe for pedestrian crossing, particularly in lower light conditions in the morning and evening (prime commuting hours). Drivers traveling westbound on Buena Vista attempting to turn right (north) onto Constitution on a red light face fast moving traffic from the left (Constitution) and low site distance due to the curve. They punch it, and often miss that the pedestrian light has turned green. This leaves pedestrians susceptible to being struck by a quickly accelerating car while they are legally crossing Constitution. I was very nearly hit yesterday morning. I recommend the City not allow right turns on red AND make pedestrian safety improvements to this intersection. Thank you.
