I received an email notification midday Tuesday that a mechanical issue caused delays in pickups for Monday. However, my pickup is Tuesday. My neighbors and I put out trash and recycling on Tuesday as usual. I came home from work to find that recycling was picked up but trash remained at the curb for all neighbors. It was not clear what we should do so we all left trash out thinking a pickup may happen later that evening. No pickup occurred and we sit on Wednesday, a holiday with trash bags sitting in front of every house. The big issue is we have received no formal directions from the town on what we should do. If pickup will occur Thursday then we should be told that. The bags remain at the curb and will most certainly be attacked by pests the longer they sit. Given that this is the first pickup after Christmas the loads are much heavier than the norm. I am very disappointed with the town administration and its handling of this issue. You knew of the problem Monday but took no further action to show any sense of control or coordination with town residents. You provided no followup, no doubt you have no idea of how the matter may or may not have been corrected. I am submitting this potentially a second time as the service seemed to log my issue only after I signed up for an account but it showed no details from my post.
