It looks like some equipment on the electric line was being held together with a wrap of plastic tape. This tape is now coming loose and hanging all the way down to the street where kids walk into it and tug on it creating a hazard, plus it kind of looks like the electric line equipment is about to fall.

I noticed this device zip tied to a garbage can in the park where a lot of children play regularly. I just want and confirm that this is placed there intentionally and not in error, are there sufficient safety mechanisms in place? If a child would stick their hand or an object into that hole would a shock occur?

This is what the warning label on the device says:

"This device emits a high voltage shock. Keep the device out of children's reach. If the device is placed in an area with children, the time lock should be activated. Individuals with heart conditions or similar ailments should take care operating the device. Small animals that can enter the chamber will be killed. Do not insert foreign objects in the entry holes. Do not use in an explosive atmosphere. Avoid spraying water directly into the trap"

There is a lot of garbage on the side walk ranging from the summer shack parking lot all the way past alewife station and through the underpass under the highway. It's as if several bags of garbage were opened and dispersed along that path.

These have been on there since we purchased our home in 2018. They aren't nice to look at, could probably be made use of somewhere else, and lastly one just fell off today which makes me feel like they might be a hazard.

It seems a garbage bag fell off a truck in the middle of the street, and is slowly being dispersed across the intersection.

There seem to not be nearly enough trash cans for the number of residents in the apartment complex at 3 McLean Pl. The cans either don't have lids or can't be closed due to the large overflow of trash.

Subsequently, the weekly pile of trash attracts a lot of rodents. I have counted up to 8 rats at a time leaving the pile when it gets lit up with car headlights. The rats often eat through the plastic bags, further spilling trash into the street.

This is NOT regarding a missed pickup, there was just no other category that fit better.

Our compost bin was broken this morning after the pick up. This has happened before, but now it happened in such a way that the lid is almost unusable and will probably fully break off very soon. We already have had problems with animals getting in there, now that will likely get worse.

Our compost bin is small so it would take throwing it with considerable force and disregard for how it lands in order to break it like this.

Intermittently, but relatively often, a very bad sewage smell can be found on the corner of McLean and Cedar st. I believe the smell comes from the street drain identified in the picture.

A few months ago, Public Works was doing some repair in Cedar Ave using the manholes. I believe it is ever since then that one particular manhole cover makes a very loud drumming noise whenever cars drive over it. This reverberates around the neighborhood and especially into the nearby houses.

We would all very much appreciate it if anything could be done about this issue.
