I called DPW and was told to submit this request. Since the Cambridgeport School has been closed due to C-19, there has been an increase in illegal activity around the school including an attempted break in at the school and people congregating without masks/social distancing. There is also an increase in broken bottles and trash. I am one of the neighbors. We would like to request temporary fencing (high not low) to block off the back of the building. Please do not block the parking lot as some neighbors use it. You may also want to block access to the playground if the City plans to keep it closed as it is used almost daily although not much - usually young children with a masked adult. (The one time there were young teens there without masks/social distancing, I did call the police as I was worried about their health and the health of their families.) We have been in touch with CPS staff member Vedad Konjic about the fencing; he tells us that DPW manages the grounds, not him (he is the Facilities Manager who works with us on a regular basis.).
