This is now the I don't know how many times I have requested action on our stormwater pond. SR24484 was closed because I received an email from Marie Bryan 11/9/21 that someone would be out after the 15th to take care of the terrible overgrowth in the pond. I told her they would need more than spray, because of the tall weed/tree growth. Noone has been here and it is now 12/29/21. It is the pond on the south side of Oakview across from the larger one on north side. Someone was out yesterday and cleaned up the one on the north side and vehicle didn't have County insignia on truck. This pond is an eyesore and has not been taken care of as email stated it would be. It is the only one in Tamaron that looks like this. Islands are growing, overflow pipes getting covered by growth, when is this going to be taken care of? Thank you, Ellen

I wrote on 8/2/21 and it was logged as SR526953 and again on 8/30/21 and it was logged as SR528437 re: same issue. It has been 2 months since the first SR. The pond on the south side of Oakview in Tamaron across from the large pond is now beyond any homeowners ability to resolve. Large tree growth is overtaking the end closest to Oakview, growing over the large drain pipes, and grass islands are growing together.
This is a county pond and you can just say you are not taking care of it anymore. How does that work? People pay taxes and I would think there is enough money to allocate toward maintenance of this pond. The monies going into all these other projects like roundabouts, diverging diamonds, Legacy Trail, etc. is no problem, but getting a county pond under control is not possible. I reported this quite awhile ago before it became out of control and now it involves a lot of work. Please take a look at this. Thank you, Ellen

Thank you for acknowledging my request and given SR526953 on August 3rd. I am pleading that something be done to get rid of the tall growth on our stormwater pond. It previously had been taken care of by County and now it is beyond overgrown. It is the one on the south side of OakView in the Tamaron subdivision. Please someone take a look at how terrible it is and help us. Thank you
  • Pond Overgrowth Acknowledged
1874 Orangewood Ln Sarasota, FL, 34232, USA - Sarasota Springs
There are a number of stormwater ponds in the Tamaron subdivision. 2 of the 3 ponds off Oak View look good. The one on the South side of Oak View across from the large one is terrible with overgrowth. It is so bad it is creating islands of growth into the pond and growing over the large drain pipe. It is a county pond and I believe it is the County''s responsibility to clear this unsightly mess. We have monies for roundabouts, Legacy Trails, roadwork, but the pond here is getting worse with no help in site. I hope this will be taken into consideration and taken care of. Thank you, Ellen

The aerators in the 3 ponds in the Tamaron HOA have not been working for 3 days. Do not know about the others in Tamaron. The ones I can see are on the North and South side of Oak View. They are county stormwater ponds. Thank you, Ellen

I didn't know who to contact so I thought I would start here. McIntosh Road between Bahia Vista and Weber has become a raceway. The posted limit is 35mph, but the amount of people traveling way over the speed limit is crazy. It has become a raceway and we hardly see any police presence to try and put a stop to it. It is especially crazy during evening commutes when people are traveling home from work. If there is someone else I should contact please let me know. Thank you, Ellen

This issue I reported on 4/1/2021 and was acknowledged as SR 521415.
I received an email today that said was investigated and now closed. That email was attached to an issue sent in 7/22/2020 and acknowledged as SR 503603. That issue was taken care of by the County and the pond cleaned and cleared.
The SR 521415 reported 4/1/2021 has brown scum that looks like vomit and weed/tree growth on the bank to the water and moving into the pond. The older people that live on the pond certainly cannot climb into the pond to fix this and it it getting terribly overgrown. It is a county stormwater pond and was hopeful that this would be acknowledged and taken care of. Thank you, Ellen Montalbano
  • Street Light Archived

This issue is for Tamaron and the no street lights problem. This subdivision was built in the 70's and I have no idea why street lights were not installed at that time. This area is very unsafe for everyone. Unless every house on every block has an outside light on you cannot see after dark. It is dangerous also with the forest preserve in here and the presence of coyotes in this area. If you walk by the preserve after dark you cannot see a thing. There was an attempted break in last night on Eastwood. If someone not familiar with area is looking for a certain street you have to bet right up on the sign to see the street name. There have been cars broken into. I am not the only one that finds an issue with having no streetlights and the fact this makes it a much easier area for crime to prevail. I would like to feel an ounce of safety when I walk my dog in the evening to at least see if someone is close by. I feel this needs to be addressed sooner than later. Thank you, Ellen

Previous email re: Issue ID 8238559-Service Request #SR503603
The pond as previously stated on the south side of Oakview between Orangewood and Woodhaven is overgrown terribly, being taken over by pond lilies, has gotten so bad that homeowners would need chainsaws for large tree growth out of the pond and some kind of grass kill to make some kind of dent. The end right off Oakview will soon grow together there is so much moving to the middle. Is the county going to take care of this as they have for the one on the North side of Oakview and the 2 on Eastwood? Why was this not done at the same time as the others? Hope to hear back regarding this issue, Thank you, Ellen Montalbano

The pond on South side of Oakview between Orangewood In. & Woodhaven are overgrown & unsightly. The one on the North side had been taken care of and the 2 ponds on Eastwood. Why not this one. The ducks will be walking on top of the water soon if vegetation keeps encroaching across the pond. Getting so tall on some bank areas residents won't be able to see water. We need this taken care of. Thanks, Ellen Montalbano Tamaron resident
