    Hi, I'm writing to request additional bike parking at Swami's beach. This is similar to the reported issue at D Street. Simply put, we need way more bike racks at Swami's for parking and locking up bikes. There are several reasons the City should want to provide sufficient rack space:

    1) Many areas become inaccessible do to locking bikes on ad hoc basis around the fencing.

    2) People are discouraged from using a safer, clean, carbon free and efficient form of transportation.

    3) Bike usage allows for greater number of users in smaller area than cars

    4) There is obviously a huge demand for additional parking space, and since it is very cheap to install, the city should seek to provide enough *bike* parking to handle the yearly maximum usage.

    I'll be following up with additional pictures shortly, illustrating a suggested area for the additional bicycle parking.

    Hi, I’m writing to you concerning the situation with bike racks at D street access. In short, there isn’t enough rack space for the people using bicycles at D street, and it creates a difficult access situation as well as discourages people from using bikes. I think the easiest solution to this problem would be to install bike racks in the street on the south side of D where it is currently street parking for cars. There are roughly two car spaces on the south side of D street east of the fire lane which should provide sufficient space for the overflow of bikes on a busy day at D street.
