There need to be a merge sign installed on the new northbound belt at mile marker 296. Let me explain why this need to happen. The cars can enter the new belt route around 10600 S. So they are going a good fast flow before reaching 9000 S. More cars enter at 9000 S and they have to merge pretty quick into the flow of traffic. There is no merge sign and the cars already on the belt do not have any indication that the cars entering the belt will be merging soon. I have personally almost been in a few wreck due to this issue. The last one was a double long semi that came up to the side of me as I was trying to merge into the belt and semi did not slow down. I slammed on my brake and because he was a double long, I was almost forced into the barrier. Please save some lives and prevent accidents by installing a merge sign.
