I called into the city/county dispatch to report a deer was evidently hit by a car. They asked if it was in the road and it was not, someone moved it to the side of the road. They said if it wasn't blocking traffic, it was not their problem. So I want to know if the City Fathers think a decaying, smelly, carcass which is drawing insects and other animals is OK to leave in a Topeka neighborhood. Thank you.

Hello, We own the property north of 49th along Burlingame, and we put an entrance and gate just west of the bridge on 49th St. We would like to see about getting a culvert installed for that entrance. Thanks to all the folks responsible for the nice blacktop on West 29th St. from Arrowhead to Wanamaker. Now, we see it can be accomplished, I plead with these same people to drive Topeka Boulevard from 45th St. to 17th St. and count the potholes. One of the largest intersections, 29th & Topeka, is an ABSOULTE EYESORE and I think the City officials should be ashamed that we can't have a nicer street named after the Capitol City of Kansas. Plus there's a lovely new sign at the 45th St. intersection welcoming visitors to Topeka and it's Boulevard. When can it get some attention too?

We own property north of 49th between Burlingame Road and the Shunga Creek. My husband feels that 49th Street needs oiled as the dust coming from it is terrible when he is on our property. Could you please check on that?

First off, I am very grateful for all LEOs and I pray for you regularly. Thank you for considering this request. I am a resident on SW Oakley Ave. and we are disturbed multiple times daily, on what should be a quiet residential street. There are several offenders. They drive motorcycles, trucks and cars. Many seem to travel at speeds of 50-60 MPH or more? I requested your attention to this last summer and all that I think was done was that you set up a speed checker device for PART of a day. It wasn't even left overnight! I doubt you recorded too many speeders in just 6 hours. However, I would like to know if two or three speed bumps could be built on SW Oakley Ave. between 29th St. Terrace and 32nd Street. If you need a petition signed by residents in the neighborhood, I would be happy to get signatures. My elderly neighbor has a good memory and she too is disturbed when they zoom by, sometimes sounding as if an airplane is going down the street! It hate to think that she backs out of her driveway one day when some idiot thinks he's at Heartland Park dragstrip. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help us keep our neighborhood QUIET AND SAFE! Is it possible for a speed trap with officers to be set up on random days? Or signage with the speed limit in big bold numbers? Anything?
