    Hi Scott,

Can you help me get a current status of the Victory Plaza development at Greenfield and Queen Creek? Has it passed the planning commission and if so, what is the final design/layout?

This property is .25 miles from me and my horses. I would like to know what kind of traffic or construction to expect.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

Email received regarding Greenfield Lakes Golf Course LED light project. Please provide details to be shared with council and public.

    Mayor Peterson-

I have lived in Gilbert for 25 years and love our community and have always found that decisions made regarding growth and progress have been in the best interest of the Town residents. My husband and I have lived on the golf course in Greenfield Lakes for 21 years and enjoy watching the golfers during the day and having peace and quiet in the evenings and nights.

On Tuesday, Aug. 23rd I attended a community meeting at Greenfield Golf Course. At this meeting several dozen community members were informed that the owner of Greenfield Lakes Golf Course wants to begin offering Night Golf. This would require several dozen 50 foot poles with LED lights installed on the course lighting it up until 10:00 PM nightly.

When I purchased my home I knowing agreed to having loud noises due to maintenance on the golf course beginning at 5:00 AM and to having noise and people outside my required view fence until dusk. I did not agree to living on an evening entertainment center that will be lighted until 10:00 PM nightly.

The golf course owner is a business owner that is trying to increase revenue and I understand the challenges of being a business owner. However, this should not be allowed- several home owners have purchased properties on the golf course expecting to privacy at dusk- this effects the lifestyle of each of these owners. The golf course owner owns the corner lot at Greenfield and Warner and has not developed this land into a profit. I would like to see other efforts for the owner to increase his profits rather than impact my backyard (literally).

At this point I am not certain if this item needs to come before you as a council or if it is a simple permit to build- I am asking for your help in guiding me and my neighbors to how we can have our voices heard on this matter.

    Thank you,
    Becky Henderson

    Gilbert Council Members,

As a homeowner in Greenfield Lakes for the past 23 years, I am dead set against the proposed Greenfield Lakes Golf course’s light project ( PROJECT-2022-00180) to accommodate night golf. They have had crazy ideas before. Years ago they tried night golf with fluorescent golf balls and headlights on the carts. It ended after several weeks. The most notable issues were drunken golfers, foul language, noise and lack of privacy. I for one, do not want to seen that happen again.

I understand that the proposal has already been filed. I urge you to reject this effort by the golf course to invade our privacy and recreate the issues we experienced before.

I have tried to call for over 3 hours over the last 2 days. How do I find out why I was not contacted about zoning changes behind my property.
