  • 2714-2720 South St Philadelphia, PA 19146, USA - City Center West
The road surface was replaced due to the construction of CHOP east but the bike lanes weren't repainted green. This leads to massive confusion on an already congested and dangerous bridge. Biking both east & west are dangerous - cars frequently drive into the lane- but particularly while biking east down the bridge toward the light. Car drivers are constantly speeding up to cut off bikers or just not looking for bikes. The turn lane crosses the bike lane and car drivers who do slow down and wait for bikers to cross get honked at, zoomed around, etc. creating a very dangerous situation. This is compounded by the fact that the bike lane remains unpainted like the rest of the bridge. Someone is going to get seriously injured because of this intersection.
  • 2298 Fitzwater St Philadelphia, PA 19146, USA - Schuylkill Southwest
Extensive Street Work was done on Fitzwaterb& 23rd earlier this year. The crosswalks were never repainted. Cars fly down the 2200 block of fitz trying to get to the light on Grays Ferry. They do not even stop at the stop sign unless someone is actively in the crosswalk area. It is unsafe and irresponsible for the city to leave crosswalks unpainted for so long in a residential area and this is a particularly bad intersection for stop sign running. Please paint these crosswalks. ASAP!!!
  • 2119-2179 Washington Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19146, USA - Schuylkill Southwest
Overgrown impassable sidewalk along the north side of a dangerous stretch of Washington Avenue. A very group of large weeds, thistle & trees have overtaken a large swath of pedestrian space, forcing anyone pushing strollers or walking dogs into the Washington Avenue parking lane.

  • 407-499 S 22nd St Philadelphia, PA - Fitler Square

Update 2/2/13: the lane was cleared late fall '12. However it's due for another sweep already. The round seed pod debris is persistent and dangerous to bike tires. This should be a regular maintenance item. Thank you.

The portion of the 22nd St bike lane along the parking lot has been jammed up with tree debris for as long as I can remember (a year or more?). The bike lane also loses some width in this block, and combined with the junk in the lane it is dangerous and I have seen bikers swerve into the car travel lane to avoid it. Now the fallen tree debris is impeding even more on the bike lane and contrary to popular belief it is not washing away in the rain or composting itself into the pavement. I believe it should be the city's job to sweep or scrape up this debris to avoid a total bike lane takeover and lots of swerving bikes. Please.
