  • 1245 Dixwell Ave Hamden 06514, États-Unis - Hamden
This staghorn sumac fell into the greenway trail, probably over the weekend during the storms.

    224 Shelton Ave New Haven 06511, États-Unis - Newhallville
When is the work going to be finished on the lights (or whatever the electrical conduit is for)? These are eyesores and I would expect not appreciated by the residents.
  • Drainage Issues Acknowledged
    1013 Dixwell Ave Rear Hamden 06514, États-Unis - Hamden
Because of the hills of debris on the other side of the fence here, the canal trail gets flooded whenever there’s a substantial rain. No place for the rain to drain to.
  • Greenway St & Woodlawn St Hamden, CT, 06517, USA - Spring Glen
Not mammoth, but the pothole at the end of Woodlawn (though probably technically on Greenway) feels deep when you turn from Woodlawn westbound onto Greenway either north or south. I'll get a pic next chance I can.
  • 1007 Dixwell Ave Hamden 06514, États-Unis - Hamden
Not road repair, but no better category.
Fence repair needed along greenway trail, both here and slightly farther south. This fence may not be entirely necessary, but a falling-over fence is certainly no use.
  • 88 Woodlawn St Hamden 06517 ÉTats-Unis - Spring Glen
This part of Woodlawn is torn up again. It got patched in February, May, and November of 2018. I’ll add the SCF links to those when I’m not on mobile.
  • 1187 Dixwell Ave Hamden 06514, États-Unis - Hamden
New pair of trees being held up by utility lines near the greenway trail.
  • 1671 Whitney Avenue Hamden, Connecticut - Spring Glen

The space of the municipal parking lot behind the Mobil and next to the Walgreen's is a garbage magnet, mostly unused for parking

This problem's been raised here on SCF several times this year:
    June (still Open): https://seeclickfix.com/issues/4546452-blight-illegal-dumping
    July (still Open): https://seeclickfix.com/issues/4734807-blight-illegal-dumping
    August 2x (still Open): https://seeclickfix.com/issues/4843182-general-issues and https://seeclickfix.com/issues/4860493-blight-general
November (still Open, sort of): https://seeclickfix.com/issues/5090774-blight-general

Here's yet another report of random garbage dumped in the weeds behind the Mobil, but also a recommendation that the town forget about the parking and turn the back part of the lot (excepting the EV charging spots) into something more useful and trafficked or send someone through it weekly to clear out the inevitable garbage.

  • 91 Connolly Parkway Hamden, Connecticut - Hamden
Earlier today there were a couple garbage bags on the eastbound side of the road on the west end of the bridge. Haven't had a moment to report until now.
  • 94 Woodlawn St Hamden 06517, États-Unis - Spring Glen
Woodlawn Street torn up again. These keep getting patched, but the patching doesn’t last. If it is more cost-effective for the town to patch, I get it, but there’s also a cost of irritated/disaffected residents.
  • 1187 Dixwell Ave Hamden CT 06514, États-Unis - Hamden
Half a tree resting on utility lines.
  • 109-121 Waite St Hamden, CT 06517, États-Unis - Spring Glen
Fallen branches hanging over sidewalk. Looks like they broke off in one of the storms from higher in the tree and are now being held up by lower branches. A good wind will probably knock them down onto a pedestrian.

Farmington Canal Heritage Trail New Haven, CT 06511, United States of America - Newhallville
Major tree root issue on the Farmington Canal trail at Hazel St. Roots are not just making the trail bumpy, they're also breaking through the trail in places.
  • Farmington Canal Heritage Trail Hamden, CT 06514, États-Unis - Hamden

Debris on trail, making it into one-"lane" all along behind industrial strip that houses Monkey Joe's, Kiddie Kabz, etc.

Concrete barrier blocks are crumbling. Cleanup is OK, but if cleanup is not going to be handled regularly, the block situation needs addressing.

  • 87 Woodlawn St. Hamden, Connecticut - Spring Glen
Woodlawn St. torn up right about here. This stretch of the street seems to get torn up every 6 months. I'm pretty sure that won't be shown by SCF tickets, but it might. My expertise isn't in roads, so I don't know why this happens, but I hope that the street will be inspected for a longterm fix in addition to the potholes getting patched.
  • 54-64 Wakefield St Hamden, CT 06517, États-Unis - Spring Glen
Utility lines down in front of 103 Wakefield. It's UI or someone else's issue to fix the wires, but I figure the town would be in charge of making the area safe.
  • 20 Farmington Canal Heritage Trail Hamden, CT 06514, États-Unis - Hamden
Hard to tell whether it's a branch or the whole tree, but it's hanging down where a cyclist could hit their head or catch an eye on a branchlet.
  • Université Yale 419 Temple Street, New Haven, CT 06511, États-Unis - Downtown
Large puddle (more like a pond or even a lake) on Temple Street. This picture is from ~24h *after* the rain stopped.
  • 20 Farmington Canal Heritage Trail Hamden, CT 06514, USA - Hamden
Lots of graffiti on the fence separating the trail from the businesses. Can't miss it as you get on the trail southbound from Hamden Park Drive. Sadly, it's not even high-quality graffiti. (Photo is a representative sample.)
  • 20 Farmington Canal Heritage Trail Hamden, CT 06514, USA - Hamden
A trail sign on the north side of the Farmington Canal trail bridge over Putnam has been significantly graffitied and there is "Ska or Die" spray-painted on the trail south of the bridge. I like ska, but I don't wish death on those who don't.
