New sink hole at intersection. Maybe a foot around and over two feet deep. I'm down this street at least once a week. This is new!
  • Lansing River Trail Lansing, Michigan - Lansing
I love the new lights under the Kalamazoo Bridge and closer to the REO Museum, but, unfortunately, there's about 50 feet of trail between these two lighting projects -- and it just so happens that it's a rough section of the trail. The first time I encountered it, I ended up off the trail and in the grass before I could course correct.

Walk signal on south side of Grand River at Turner not functioning.
  • Lansing River Trail Lansing, Michigan - Lansing

The roads around Impression 5 are under construction and there's an ordinance prohibiting bicycles from using the River Walk near there. Can this ordinance be lifted? Not sure why it's even on the books, but since bikes have no other choice at present, it might be good to bring it up. Here's the ordinance:

Sec. 6.5 Bicycles; Riding on Part of Riverwalk Prohibited

No person shall operate a bicycle on that portion of the Riverwalk which is between the R.E. Olds Museum and the Lansing Center.

The only way this cyclist has found to trigger the lights at night and during weekends is to take over the main lane or get on the sidewalk and hit the walk sign. Both seem silly. Can't the electronic eye be made to also monitor the bike lanes, too? Pretty please with extra safety on top!

The property is for sale and has become a dumping ground for beds and couches.

HAWK signal at Cedar S of Jolly on West side of intersection had no audible signal when ped/cyclist touches it.

    Walk Signal not functioning
Se Corner Of Kalamazoo & Larch Lansing MI 48912

Previously reported as Issue ID: 2727537 and closed by Lansing Public Service but it hasn't been fixed yet.

NOTE: Lansing Public Service, what I love about this app is that there's ONLY ONE place needed for citizens to log things that need fixing. Calling/remembering other places to contact kinda defeats the purpose/simplicity of this online app for us mere mortals.

The walk signal does not light up. The wait one does.
  • pothole Archived
Sellers Avenue Lansing, Michigan - Ingham County

This stretch of road, I think, has a martyr complex. It's definitely holier than most. And only martyrs (or those with a death wish?) traverse it by bicycle.

But this particular pothole is one for the record books. It's even with the entrance from Liberty Tax in the middle of the road. If this were Chicago, during a hot summer, I can imagine it being used to cast a deep dish pizza pan. Extra Large. Double cheese. Hold the anchovies.

A car has been parking in the bike lane on Kalamazoo between Clemens and Fairview on the South side of the street. Yes, some of us cycle year round!
  • Kalamazoo Street Between Larch And Us-127 Lansing, Michigan - Mason
Some of us ride year round, and to put cyclists into the path of regular traffic this time of year just adds to the potential for accidents. Thanks in advance!
  • Sellers Avenue Lansing, Michigan - Ingham County
A new, fairly deep pothole has developed near the stop sign on Sellers near Homer in the right-most lane.
  • North Of Lansing City Market lansing/ingham, Michigan - Lansing
The drinking fountain north of the Lansing City Market has misters above it and they're stuck in the on position. I didn't know we even HAD such a thing until seeing this!
  • Downtown Near Adado Riverfront Park Lansing, Michigan - Lansing

Some kind of air boat has been on the water lately, and it's making it hard for local residents or businesses to enjoy the river trail or attract/keep customers.

Those of us near the river or on the river trail go there for some quiet "me time" and/.or stress-free recreation. That can't be done if we're holding our ears or dealing with headaches after unexpectedly encountering this loud craft on the water.

  • 508 Beech Street Lansing, MI - Lansing
A branch came down today on the wires to this house.
  • Lansing River Trail Lansing, Michigan - Lansing

Yesterday on the river walk I witnessed three young children (around age 10) run up to the bridge and proceed to cross the river on the OUTSIDE of the bridge on both sides, almost racing across, using the bars as hand-holds and side-stepping their feet on the flat metal railing all the way across. I tried to dissuade them from doing it again, pointing out all the potential hazards, but they were sure of themselves and wouldn't listen. In their arguments to me, they said, in fact, that they do it all the time. PLEASE find a way to block access. If it will help, I'll meet Lansing officials and show them what the children were doing.
