  • Raleigh Beltline Raleigh, North Carolina - Southwest

Accidents in this area were averaging 2 a week for May-July, and jumped to 5/week for August.

Here is a video of the exact problem I experienced:

Here's the WRAL story on my 8/13 accident:

NCDOT standards for road marking removal, set forth in "Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures". NCDOT: Raleigh, NC. Div. 12, Sec. 1205 (I - Removal of Pavement Markings), lines 38-39, "Leave the pavement surface in a condition that will not mislead or misdirect the motorist.". This requirement has not been met along the Fortify construction zone because, in several places, markings diverge and the old ones are almost as visible as the new. • Hammond Road & U.S. 64 Raleigh, NC 27603, USA - Blount Corridor
The left red light is dark. The other colors work.
  • Little Rock Trail Raleigh, NC 27601, USA - Central
    Water fountain doesn't work

There used to be a trash can here.
  • 913 South Person Street Raleigh, NC 27601, USA - Blount Corridor
The trash can at the bus stop is full.
  • Crosswalk needed Acknowledged
S Blount St Raleigh, North Carolina - Blount Corridor
Pedestrians cross Blount here often. They generally have to fend for their lives as cars zip down Blount. A crosswalk here, preferably with lights (RFRB) like Cary has at NW Maynard would be good.
  • Lenoir & Chavis Raleigh , NC - Central
The trash can on the bus stop sign is full. Every time I walk by.
  • 533 East Lenoir Street Raleigh, North Carolina - South Central
This trash can is full, and there's a box of more trash beside it. It has been full for about a month. Please make sure whoever is supposed to check it is checking it often enough.
  • Pulen Park Raleigh, North Carolina - Hillsborough
The grounds people like to park their vehicles on the Rocky Branch Greenway. I nearly ran into a truck when I biked up to Western Blvd from the tunnel under Pullen Rd a few weeks ago, and this morning, they were parked blocking the entire sidewalk just north of the crosswalk on Ashe Ave.
  • 429 Wilmington St. Raleigh, North Carolina - Blount Corridor

This stairwell from the City Center parking deck smells strongly of urine, mostly between P2 and ground.

Are there any public restrooms nearby? The situation is particularly challenging for the homeless.

  • 429 S Wilmington St Raleigh, North Carolina - Central
On P4, at the west end of the north ramp, there are brackets for stop signs to hang from the ceiling. There are no signs on them.
  • 100 East Williams Street Apex, North Carolina - Apex
The grate needs to be replaced with one that does not have slots parallel to the road.
  • 1402-1416 North Salem Street Apex, North Carolina - Wake County

I fell from my bicycle into the roadway going north on the right side of the road here because of a 3-inch gap going from grass shoulder to roadway. The WakeMed Apex ER nurse said she alone had seen 3 other people have similar accidents in the same place (which I described to her as N Salem just north of Apex Peakway). At a minimum, the shoulder needs to be brought up to the roadway level and maintained that way.

This road is popular for bicycles and cars alike. It is part of US bike route 1. It would do very well to have a bike lane for northbound if not also southbound.

  • 429 S Wilmington St Raleigh, North Carolina - Central
These signs on the 7th floor of the parking deck (some with time limits and others without) are unclear. What is "tier parking"? The yellow spaces are clearly marked as 3-hour spaces lower in the deck, but this sign adds an element of mystery.
  • 199 E Davie St Raleigh, North Carolina - Blount Corridor
The white "WALK" signs for crossing Blount going west aren't showing, and neither is the countdown for the "DON'T WALK" sign.
  • 543 East Lenoir Street Raleigh, North Carolina - South Central
There is a culvert that comes out from under the parking lot of the church on Cabarrus and turns south, only to dump into the grassy area here, which causes erosion, mud, and water over the sidewalks at Lenoir & Chavis where a fair portion of the water eventually dumps into the storm drain on those streets. This problem sharply diminishes the value of the Lenoir and Chavis park area.
  • Twisted light Archived
Person & Davie Raleigh, North Carolina - Blount Corridor
The yellow and green lights on the left traffic light for westbound traffic have gotten twisted around a bit making the lights harder to see.

There is exactly one tall light pole over this little courtyard, and its light is on during the day. It might be good to remove the pole and light since it seems the function of that light has been replaced by many fancier shorter light poles.
  • Johnston Terrace Raleigh, North Carolina - Central
There is a white box here with water pipes and an electrical outlet in it. The water pipe is leaking. I also reported this to the receptionist at the community center.
