Looks like about 1/4 of the first half of Lyon St (from Olive) was shoveled a little but not the rest of the street. Where they ended, huge piles of snow in street-

People hanging around, drinking, etc getting bad again, now in groups of 2-5. Using parking lots as bathrooms, etc. Please control this. The new parking striping has brought more positive activity to the street and it would be great to continue that so this section of Grand- the gateway into downtown once again becomes a desirable destination.

No way can a Fire Truck get thru this street. It's not just the snow. Need to evaluate traffic flow and parking on William, Lyon, Jefferson Sts.
And perhaps you can add a category to this list regarding parking (in General) only...

In the past there was no parking on the even side during a snow emergency because that is a NO PARKING side on Lyon St. Residents have always used the various garages the city makes accessible. Now, with the wording of the new order specifically stating that cars are to be parked on the EVEN side, we have a real disaster thanks to those who have not moved their cars from the odd side. NONE of these cars have been TOWED! Perhaps they should be made to pay for the extra work they create for the city- a small fine is not going to help unless the car is towed.
Most importantly what's the point of moving from one side to another- makes no sense. Now we have a very narrow one swipe of the plow-wide cleared space down the street. Result: residents who do park on the street will have even less places to park after the storm since the city is NOT towing those parked on the wrong (ODD) side. Can we finally come up with a sensible plan. Either allow those on streets with parking only on one side to stay put or make them move completely off the street to the garages allocated as has been the case in the past.
This new wording of the snow emergency creates a totally illogical, non-sensible solution and has led to havoc. Furthermore now that we have a narrow canal plowed thru the middle of the street nobody with a driveway will be able to get in or out because of the removed snow is now in heaps about 8-10 feet in the middle of the street.
Somebody PLEASE DO SOMETHING before this ends so we can resume our lives.

Trash bins on the sidewalk when they have a huge area for parking (which incidentally was recently created from a green back yard and the creation of that parking area's overly large curb-cut removed parking from Jefferson Street). There is plenty of room to keep these bins on their own property like the rest of us do. These are the same folks that don't trim the hedges at the important intersection of Lyon and Jefferson. The combination of these issues makes for very inconvenient walking and during the winter months is a serious pedestrian hazard. Let's hope these folks can get more neighborly.

@ 855 Grand Avenue and in the general vicinity. This is becoming more and more of a nuisance to everyone in the neighborhood. No way are we ever going to improve the neighborhood until folks feel safe. Also, the street is filthy with trash.

New Street Lamp installed by UI yesterday lights up the night and is aimed too far backward and shines directly in our homes. Needs readjusting. Also this amount of intensity goes beyond safety and becomes light pollution. Plantings nearby will never know it's nite time.
