More vandalism at the intersection of the Sanford Creek greenway trail and Marshall Farm St. This time they actually broke off the wooden sticks for the big orange warning flags. I found one of the flags thrown back in the woods along the trail. It was just before the metal bridge over the creek, 100+ feet from where the flags are normally on the stand by Marshall Farm St. That flag was too far in the thorn bushes for me to get out. I didn't see the other flag in the area. My litter pickup route stops at that bridge. I suspect the vandals may have been running down the trail toward Forestville Rd., so maybe the other flag is somewhere further in that direction.

Note these are the same flags that were down and you fixed a couple of weeks ago. Then I thought it was wind damage. Now I suspect that was probably vandalism. It is also the same intersection where I reported here a vandalized metal sign two days ago.

Vandals bent this sign, pulled it up, and threw it down into the greenway woods. I moved it back onto the grass by intersection of the greenway trail and Marshall Farm Street.

The storm yesterday seems to have blown down the warning flags at the intersection of Marshall Farm St. and the Sanford Creek greenway trail. I didn't see a way to reattach the bracket.

One end of a sidewalk slab has risen over two inches. It's a definite tripping hazard. It's on the south side of Rogers Road, about midway between the Hobblebush Way and Heritage View Trail intersections.

Your map doesn't work too well. I put the marker on the correct Wake Forest location. The address then listed at the top was for Shasta Daisy Drive in *Zebulon*. Shasta Daisy in Wake Forest is next to Rogers Road, which has no homes and street addresses on it. Presumably that's why the discovered address was Shasta Daisy instead of Rogers Road.

There is a broken 45 mph speed limit sign beside Rogers Rd. The post is broken in two with the sign and top part of the post in the grass. I saw no signs of a car wreck or wind damage in that area, so I assume it was vandalism. This is on the south side of Rogers Rd. between Hobblebush Way and Heritage View Trail.
  • 840 Marshall Farm St Wake Forest, NC, 27587, USA - Wake Forest

A few months ago they put some pedestrian-crossing warning markers on Marshall Farm St. This is by the Jersey barriers just down from the Orange Cosmos intersection. They painted markers on the street on one side of the barriers and apparently glued to the asphalt some plastic triangles on the other side of the barriers. The paint is doing fine. The plastic triangles are now well broken. See picture.

It might be vandalism, but more likely it is weather related. These markers are at the bottom of a hill. See all the mud that has collected there. Probably water keeps running down and finding a way under the triangle edges. Then freeze/thawing causes the breakage.

If this happens while the street is still closed, imagine what the triangles will look like when the barriers are removed and the expected heavy traffic starts running over the plastic. The triangles should be painted instead of using the easily breakable plastic.

A CenturyLink tall green pedestal has been knocked over -- maybe a car crashed into it. It is on the north side of Rogers Rd. near the intersection with Hobblebush Way in Wake Forest, NC. It is pretty well smashed and has been down at least a month. I'm not a Century Link customer and their website is not too amenble for a non-customer to report things. I would have thought some customer would have reported it by now, but I guess service has not been disrupted so far, or there are no customers.

One of the "Keep six feet apart" signs is now missing on the Sanford Creek Geenway. It had been taped to the metal sign pole near Golden Star Way.

Vandals keep tearing down those signs along the trail between Marshall Farm St. and Evening Snow St. They toss the H-frame signs back in the woods; I retrieve them and replant them. The ground along the west part of the trail is very rocky and hard to plant H-frames. Eventually the Town replaced those western signs with wooden stakes instead of H-frames. The vandals just kicked those down, breaking the stakes. I then used vinyl tape to attach those to nearby metal greenway sign poles. They have stayed in place for a long time, but today I saw one was missing. I looked around in the nearby woods, but couldn't find it. One of the other signs (near Prarie Smoke St.) is fractured, as if they tried to bend it into a circle.

Large pothole developing again at usual place on Rogers Road by downhill curve. Dangerous for motorists to try to avoid by going left. Looks like some have tried going right and off the road. Rolesville town limit sign is directly across the road. I tried providing a picture, but SeeClickFix seems broken today in that and other areas.

I do litter pickup in the Heritage South neighborhood and handle the associated section of Rogers Road (a state road) at least once a week. I have no problem picking up the small stuff, but there are some large things in the grass/weeds/bushes by the road that are too large for me to handle. See the three green boxes in the attached file.

    1) A little east of the recently replaced culvert under Rogers Road is a large, standard, (badly bent) metal "Adopt a Highway" sign and post. It probably was knocked down in an accident decades ago and has lain in the weeds ever since. It is so heavy and partially buried that I can't lift it by myself. This is just west of the Rolesville corporate limits sign.

In the same area are what appear to be parts of a large metal dolly. The dolly parts appeared within the last year.

    2) Across the road and several hundred feet to the east are some large pieces of fiberboard/plywood on the grass. One is about 4' by 4'.

    3) About half a mile to the west is a metal lawn chair, currently hidden back in the bushes. That is the spot I flagged on the SeeClickFix map, which allows only one flag.

Contact me if you need better directions.

All this litter is now well off the road, so is not a traffic hazard. Most of it has been there quite a while. Some parts have now been thrown far back in the weeds/bushes and are hidden when things have grown and the DOT hasn't mowed recently. There is a lot of metal, which is probably worth recycling.

I'd be glad to move some parts out of the weeds if that would help the DOT(?) see them and pick them up; just let me know. However I don't think I would be able to move the "Adopt a Highway" sign. That looks like it might be a two-man job to move.

There is now a large tire in one of the creeks in Sanford Creek Greenway. It wasn't there last week. It is just before where the creek goes under the boardwalk near the intersection of the main trail and the trailhead that goes up to Sanford Creek Drive (east end), then continues to Forgotten Pond Ave. The tire is well out in the creek and the banks are high. It's too large for me to get out and dispose of.
  • 4208-4298 Fawn Lily Dr Wake Forest, NC, 27587, USA - Wake Forest

A street sign is missing at the corner of Shasta Daisy Dr. and Fawn Lily Dr. This is at the eastern end of Fawn Lily; a sign with the same wording is still present at the western end (Shasta Daisy intersects with Fawn Lily twice).

Note that when the eastern end of Fawn Lily crosses Shasta Daisy, the street name changes from Fawn Lily Dr. to Albino Deer Way. There is a sign to mark Shasta Daisy/Albino Deer and there used to be one for Shasta Daisy/Fawn Lily on the other side of the intersection, but it is now gone.

Several times I had reported that the now missing sign didn't seem to be attached correctly since it was leaning at an angle. I guess it finally fell off and someone removed it.

It looks like a snow plow might have clobbered a large cable pedestal. The cover is off and the uncovered stand is bent over. Most of the pedestals in that area are for Century Link. I didn't try to see if I could ID this one.
