Perhaps the cemetary board can invest in a nicer, stronger fencing system and a better gate? it seems that anyone off the street seems to be able to break the gate off it's hinges... Can the city, LCI, etc force some action on this issue? The cemetary is a very important neighbor and they seem to be one of our most neglectful ones.

I took a walk through our park this morning with my daughter. As I was walking along, I noticed that over half a dozen trees in the park have been hacked up, possibly killing them!

These trees have had a lot of time invested in them through the Greenspace program, URI, the School of Forestry, and neighborhood groups through planting them and taking care of them. They shade our park in the summer and make it a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy.

And now some two bit hack (or group of said hacks) comes along and takes a shovel to the trees?! Do they know that the life of a tree flows through the bark? What is the point of killing our beautiful trees?

Some of the trees have obviously been just planted while others have been in the park for years and are quite well established.

What can we do about this?! Please New Haven Police, patrol this park at night! I have talked to the guys that hang out in the park during the day, as well as some neighbors who I saw about and none of them seem to know who is behind this.

I love my neighborhood very much but sometimes it seems to do nothing but want to self-destruct. I just don't get it.

The gate for cars that is always locked shut has been broken in again and pushed forward. Giving the strong impression that the gate has again become a thruway for people who have no business being in the cemetary.

There is a yellow dirt bike that comes from around 120 or 122ish Atwater St. that races up and down, doing wheelies and blowing through stop signs, gunning the engine and generally being very dangerous. The guy races between Grand and Chatham St. It's an African American guy and there's sometimes a crowd around the house when he's out. I love our neighborhood but this has got to stop.

The new swing in our NEW park has been vandalized. One of the metal clips that holds up the corners has been taken off so that the swing hangs crooked and un-usable. This is a really easy fix but really unfortunate that someone has that little respect for our neighborhoods efforts.

These guys race up and down our street from Grand to Grafton and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and ... you get my point. no helmets, blowing through red lights and stop signs, narrowly missing pedestrians and causing a ridiculous amount of noise? what can be done? i think they might originate from the garage just to the right of 17-19 Atwater st right near grand ave. sometimes there are multiple ATV's and also a number of dirt bikes.

I walk down Pine from Atwater to Ferry every day and can tell who's doing what and where, regularly, by the trash I find. Next to the graveyard there is the spot where drugs are dealt and used, the spot where alcohol is usually consumed and bottles are discarded, and the spot where they work on their cars and leave the trash. I can't tell who, but i can see where.
