City Trees Archived616 First St New Westminster, BC V3L 2H3, Canada - New WestminsterThe tree in the traffic circle needs replaced. The tree blew down several months back and was never replaced. I would encourage the City to plant a tree with a high upright canopy in order to improve sight lines for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.

Unsightly Property ArchivedFirst Street New Westminster, BC V3N 2G5, Canada - New WestminsterThe boulevard in this location (along First) looks terrible. The homeowners destroyed the City's section of boulevard when they built a large retaining wall about a year ago. They recently had a large dump truck deposit fill material along the boulevard in order to level it out. Unfortunately this material does not look suitable to grow grass. The two boulevard trees in this location are struggling. I am assuming the homeowner did not consult the City when they built the retaining wall which may have impacted the root system.

Street/Sidewalk Issues Archived8th Avenue And First Street New Westminster, British Columbia - New WestminsterThe safety of the pedestrian crosswalk could be improved. Parking of vehicles on the north side of 8th Avenue is permitted too close to the crosswalk. Visibility of pedestrians could easily be improved by eliminating just one parking spot. We can do better New West!
