That Guy

  • 77 Gosse Ct Burlington VT 05408, United States - Burlington Electric
Crosswalk at Hunt on Gosse Ct lacks appropriate "no parking" signage to allow sight lines for this heavily used crossing.
  • Berry St & North Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
I'm aware that BPD cruisers can park wherever they want. That said, having them parked in the bike lane on either end of this construction zone seems totally unnecessary, causing more conflicts between different road users trying to navigate what is an already crowded streetscape.
  • North Ave & Washington St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Contractor for Washington/Berry intersection has signage placed in bike lane (instead of in greenbelt). Both NB & SB lanes were blocked by signage. I understand the contractor will need to place signage during construction, but it should be placed so it isn't blocking the bike lane.
  • 28-64 N Union St Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Please re-install all the missing flex posts on the Union St protected bike lane. There are maybe half a dozen left on S. Union between Main & Buell, but after that there are literally none left for the entire length of Union all the way to N. Winooski.
  • Island Line Trail Burlington VT 05408, United States - Burlington Electric
Crossing sign knocked down, needs repair.
  • Burlington Vt 05401 United States - Burlington Electric
"No parking" sign was knocked down, currently jammed into planter. Multiple bollards knocked down & missing (on both sides of this park area).

Is it possible for DPW to implement proactive regularly scheduled street sweeping of all bike lanes city wide, instead of the current reactive system where sweeping is done by request when enough debris/glass/etc builds up?

If possible, this would ideally happen the day after recycling pickup on all regular routes. Most (but not all) of the broken glass tends to be from dropped recycling, so from a timing perspective weekly sweeps on whatever day follows recycling pickup would make the most sense.

As a daily commuter, my observation is that enough debris of different kinds builds up weekly to warrant sweeping, and we're not talking about a lot of road miles that would need to be covered.

  • 234 Lake St Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
    Missing bricks at new park
  • 520-576 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05408, USA - Burlington Electric
At the spot where a pothole was recently filled, there is a bunch of debris still in the bike lane that could use a sweep. Another problem spot exists just a bit further north on the east side, at the bottom of the dip where sandy debris builds up deep enough to cause a crash at speed.
  • 486-518 North Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Pothole, in the section that was repaved two summers ago. Through multiple layers of asphalt to the cement sub-base. Northbound lane, right wheel track. Cement is blowing out of the pothole into the bike lane. This is a repeat fix of an old patch. (file photo, same location, same issue)
  • 224 Starr Farm Rd Burlington VT 05408, United States - Burlington Electric
    Missing bike rack.
  • 762 North Ave Burlington VT 05408, United States - Burlington Electric
There are now a dozen missing flex posts at this intersection on the south side, plus more missing on the north side. This encourages speeding on this incredibly wide stretch of road (which is signed at 25mph) and allows for NB traffic to use the bike lane to turn onto the beltline. Please replace missing flex posts.
  • 62 Oak St Burlington VT 05401, United States - Burlington Electric
Huge amounts of standing water on both sides of Oak St between the crosswalk in front of Boys & Girls club and the intersection with St Mary’s. Kids walking on either sidewalk get soaked any time a car drives by. Either drainage needs a fix, or there needs to be repaving... probably both.
  • Sidewalk Closed
35 Van Patten Pkwy Burlington VT 05408, United States - Burlington Electric
Hedge completely overgrown, barely enough room to squeeze by. Impossible with a stroller.
  • Archibald St & Intervale Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
Crosswalks on all approaches & stop bars at stop signs need to be repainted before school starts next month. In addition, there are a set of planned & approved improvements to this intersection which have yet to be implemented. Would be great to get a status update on that, in addition to maintenance of existing pedestrian facilities.

  • 98 Killarney Dr Burlington VT 05408, United States - Burlington Electric
Several deep potholes, mostly right on the center seam of asphalt.
  • 42–56 Saratoga Ave Burlington VT 05408, United States - Burlington Electric
These cones & metal plate have been in place for months. Is this on the list for repairs this summer?
