We came back to the marina this year to find the neighborhood between the waterfront and W Union street decimated. The mature trees (all) were razed on the private property, and between the marina parking lot and the footpath on the hill - the vibrant flowering bushes on the hillside were completely removed and the very large, majestic 150+ year old sycamores had several of its lower, sweeping limbs removed. It is apparent this was work performed by an unskilled person. Not performed by an arborist or licensed tree service. Was this approved? Is this legal? I would think there would be landscaping requirements for such properties in the historic district. This is damage to the waterfront that cannot be repaired in any of our lifetimes and can't be replaced by hostas.
