    172-598 Channing St Ferndale, MI, 48220, USA - Ferndale

    Sinkhole forming in road on Channing, center of road, just East of Hilton.

    Issue has been reported twice. Asphalt has been applied. Still a sinking pot hole that is not near the level of the rest of the road.

    Either the repair was done poorly (twice?), or it is continuing to sink into the hole under the street where the water lines were replaced earlier in 2023.

    I don't understand why this isn't being inspected further other than throwing a layer of asphalt over concrete (which never lasts). May need to cut out the concrete patch, properly fill the hole, and patch again to repair, or risk a larger hole opening up through the winter. Hopefully there isn't a burst or broken water main under there causing the hole.
