A large black container that was located in the alley way has been moved to a location further West about 150 feet. It was moved on Tuesday, Nov14th, which is the norm garbage pickup. We called on Tuesday afternoon and was advised that a container would be back in 48 hours. Today (Friday) 72 hours later and we could not put out our garbage as there is no container.
  • Pinellas Trail / Trailhead Park Saint Petersburg, Florida - Childs Park Neighborhood Association
There is a Bench Just off the Pinellas Trail that would normally be used by Cyclists, Skaters, Joggers & pedestrians as a rest place while enjoying the Pinellas Trail. However, local young residents use it as a meeting spot 'After Dark' for local pharmaceutical representatives while they also enjoy alcoholic beverages among other thing. When they finish their munchies etc. they toss their trash directly towards the Pinellas Trail. So the daytime users of the Trail don't stop because of the Filth, it also brings out Rats, Stray Dogs & Cats who go through the tossed items and they scatter it out further.

In the Alley behind this address several neighbors have put their 'IRMA' debris of trees and limbs. It is almost two months since IRMA came to visit, how long will it take for the city to remove this?

Large tree uprooted by Irma now laying across power lines. Police have been out to verify. Roadway blocked, city garbage truck could not pass. Both City workers and Police said to keep clear of it until Duke Energy arrives. Tree appears lower each day putting more and more tension on the wires.

We own an empty lot and going through the "Simple" (150% Sarcasm) task of building on it. Our neighbors have been using this lot as a dump site for lawn waste, trash and parking their vehicles. We put up signs that say No Dumping, No Parking, No Trespassing... So far the only change is that our signs are being torn down. If we take photos of the Vehicles will the police help? On more than 3 occasions there have been cutting from Palm Trees, since there are only TWO Palm trees on the block (we don't have any) can we drag them down the block and leave them in those driveways?
  • 709-731 37th Street South Saint Petersburg, Florida - Childs Park Neighborhood Association
The alley between 37th Street South and 38th Street South is in need of fill and blading. Since it is all dirt and gravel, it is the city garbage truck that starts and stops to pick up the 4 containers at the rear of the homes. When the alley is wet, the garbage trucks take with it on its large tires the gravel and mud creating a 3" drop just prior to the roadway at 37th Street South. ALSO; I have noticed that the very same garbage truck picks up the containers on 8th Avenue South from the front of the homes that don't use the alley way. Would it not make more sense to save time and fuel if the garbage truck just picked up all the containers on the paved 8th Avenue South?

Don't know if this vehicle was stolen and parts ripped off... OR if it crashed and towed to this spot... But after 2 months I thought maybe one of the hundred police cars that pass that spot daily would have had it mentioned in a report...

Let me see if this horse is really dead... Duke Energy came out to look at my complaint about LOW hanging Power lines in the backyards of several homes on the 3800 block of 8th Avenue South... On the North Side or the Street. They looked, they saw, they left 8 days ago. So I repeat WHO Watches over the Utility company if not the CITY???

Since The Quickie Store has gone 24/7, I and many of my neighbors have called in complaints after 11pm about the noise and drinking in the parking lot. The sell alcohol to the wee hours even after Legal Bars have closed. Their cliental at Midnight and beyond have motor vehicles with adaptive sound systems that can be heard for several blocks away. While the Quickie store itself is not responsible for their customers, something MUST Be Done about the loud noise and drinking alcohol in THEIR parking lot. Please check with the Police Department about how many man hours have been spent putting a stop to the LOUD music after hours according to city laws. Maybe to stop it you just need to Close the Quickie Store after 11 PM each night. I have over 20 images available showing the police arriving to shut down the party after 1am. Let me know if you need them to close the Quickie Store for Noise Complaints and for Illegal selling of alcohol after hours.

Ally Way between 2nd Ave South & 1st Ave South, just 50 feet East of 28th Street South, noticed an older Green Ford Pick Up Truck with a 5x8' Trailer 'Dumping' furniture, etc. Two Black Males, late 40's, could not get the license plate on the truck as it was blocked by trailer and did not see a plate on the Trailer.

Noise After Hours; 24/7 Quickie Store sells alcohol all night long. Cars park and gather to listen to Very Loud 'Politically Incorrect & Vulgar' music past Midnight. Police have been called a multiple of times as late as 4:AM. Is the store owner responsible when 'their' customers stay for periods longer than 30 minutes? Photo from August 18th, 2016 at 4:17 AM.

The Cross walk signal on the South side of the Street in front of the 'Quickie' Store was hit and removed by a vehicle about 10 days ago. There have already been fatalities at this location and it would be a PLUS to replace the crosswalk signal. I did not report this sooner as I was 'SO SURE' that a city worker or police officer would have made this repair happen.

Have reported this twice before directly to the Police Dept. The Cross Walk Signal on the North Side of the Street Blinks ALL The Time. Drivers at night NOW ignore it as it is ALWAYS Blinking. Some Child, Senior OR Anyone Else is going to get Struck by a Vehicle. Last time I called it in, the Police came out to see it... YES, it kept on Blinking. So they called City Maintenance and they put a black plastic bag over the light so it would no longer appear flashing. The one on the South Side of the Street does not work/blink At All.

The Quickie Store at 15th Ave South and MLK has recently changed its store hours from closing at 11PM to 24/7...
Since I live near this location I have had to call the Police several times to stop the 'Noise' (I think they call it rap music) after 2AM. Local bars have to obey laws of when to stop selling alcohol and close at a certain time. The 16-20 people 'OUTSIDE' the Quickie Store between 3 & 4 AM drinking and playing their VULGAR music (loudly from their vehicle speakers) & dancing. (Vulgar= language if I used it at a public meeting in City Hall I would be arrested OR language that a person of non color would be arrested for would be charged with a hate crime). Was there a hearing at city hall granting a 24 hour store license? Is the city responsible for letting 'Neighbors' know of the change? At 4:15AM the Police arrived to shut down the music and have the public drinkers move on. PLEASE Enforce Current laws about drinking & noise. The store operators say they have NO CONTROL of the people in their parking lot, but they allow them to stay for hours at a time playing loud noise and of course drinking the products that they sell. Two Photos are included.
