The rats in the alley of the 500 Block btw 24th Street and 23rd Place are out of control. I have personally seen multiple rats scurrying about between three different burrows. One burrow is in the alley at the edge of 550 24th Street and accessible without entering the fence. However, the property owner is aware of the problem and would not mind allowing a city employee to enter and treat the burrow(s). Directly across the alley at the rear of 555 23rd Place are two burrows where I witnessed the resident of said property dump food scraps on the ground. I immediately told him that is unacceptable and that he is only adding to the problem. I showed him the two burrows at the edge of his property and he apologized for dumping the food scraps on the ground. There are other burrows that I have yet to identify, but I should have to identify them. I pay taxes to allow the city to employ someone to find the burrows. Please send someone NOW.

Two rat burrows have been observed by me directly across the alley from one another. The rats are bold with no regard for the presence of people nor time of day. The burrow entrances are accessible from the alley without going into the yards of the property owners and located where the owners store their trash cans. Check out the rear of 550 24th Street NE at the fence line and the burrow between 557 and 555 23rd Place under an old slab of concrete near trash cans that overflow on a regular basis. The property owner on 24th Street is aware of the problem, because I told her personally a few days ago.

Vehicle has been in the same spot for about 2 months. The RPP sticker is expired. Please ticket and/or remove. Parking space is very limited on this street. More cars than spaces available is the norm, especially at night.

This sidewalk was reported by me at least 2 years ago and it remains a serious hazard to everyone not just wheelchairs, strollers, and bikes. Since this sidewalk is in the historic district of Kingman Park, it should receive the same priority of others such as Capitol Hill. If one Brick is ajar on Capitol Hill, it is treated like a national emergency. We deserve the same in response to issues like this. 569 appears to the closest address to the sidewalk.

This building has plywood covering the windows due to a fire in May 2018. Subsequently, it now has graffiti and recently posters were attached and later removed

Multiple vehicles parked in the alley btw 24th and 23rd Pl NE all day while working on house. Makes it nearly impossible to drive through alley without hitting trash cans and the vans

Contractors parking in alley at both ends between 23rd and 24th Streets NE

Contractors are parking in the alley every day this week between 23rd Place and 14th Street NE.

Rat observed at night across the alley from the rear of my property in the backyard of three residences (559, 561, 563) on 23rd Place NE. The rat was the size of a house cat minus the legs. I watched as it hugged the perimeter of the homes and climbed each fence. Last seen in the backyard of 559 23rd PlaceNE. Also, saw a dead rat in alley behind Hip Hop Fish and Chicken which is adjacent to the same alley.

On many occasions I've seen an unkept bearded black male eating food from trash cans left in the alley. He appears to be mentally unstable and unable to engage in a rational conversation. This is not a report about mental illness, but an example of the issues brought about because DC government does not enforce the rules about trash can removal from alleys. Do your job! I pay taxes for clean alleys and enforcement of rules. Since the coming month is the mayor's designated focus on alleys in Ward 7 and 8, I expect results very soon. Put this specific issue at the top of the list, please. I'm sick and tired of the alley view every time I get in my vehicle parked in the rear of my house.
