  • 42nd St & Rich St Oakland, CA, 94609, USA - Temescal
There are sidewalk ramps for pedestrians to cross both Rich Street and 42nd Street at the Rich/42nd St. intersection and pedestrians frequently cross in both directions, but there are no crosswalks. Since the street has just been repaved at the locations of both crossings (Rich Street and 42nd Street), and since the City will be adding the crosswalks to other locations along 42nd Street, it seems an ideal time to add crosswalks at these crossing, thereby improving the safety of the many pedestrians who cross at those locations.

This vehicle has been abandoned on the sidewalk for months.

452 Rich Street Oakland, CA 94609, USA - Temescal
Oakland Street tree is pushing up sidewalk, private retaining wall, and breaking private concrete steps. In addition to causing private property damage the street tree is preventing two Rich St. residents in wheelchairs from using the sidewalk.
  • Sidewalk Inilagay sa Artsibo
451 Rich Street Oakland, California - Temescal
City tree roots have broken and uplifted the sidewalk, causing a safety hazard and damaging adjacent private property. This tree's roots and piece of sidewalk were not maintained several years ago when all others on Rich Street were. Now it is a hazard for all pedestrians and prevents at least two Rich Street residents who are in wheelchairs from using the sidewalk. The roots are causing damage to/uplifting the private property owner's retaining wall and appear to be impacting the water main valve box. The situation is getting worse every week.

There is a shopping cart loaded up with bags, one of which has burst open and has what I hope is a wig spilling out. This has been on the sidewalk for over 4 days.
  • 510 16th Street Oakland, California - Downtown
When crossing Telegraph at 16th Street (Latham Square) the walk signal blinks red without any indication of when it will stop blinking. The moment it turns red the traffic light is green and cars are coming. It is very easy to get caught in this crosswalk in front of oncoming traffic. At this high traffic location, and with some drivers distracted by the awkward angle of the intersection, it is very dangerous. While a pedestrian friendly pilot project is planned for this location by the City of Oakland (http://www2.oaklandnet.com/Government/o/PWA/o/EC/s/BicycleandPedestrianProgram/LSPP/index.htm), in the meantime, the traffic signal needs a countdown for pedestrians or a delay between when the walk signal is red and the light for cars is green.
  • 3401-3599 Webster Street Oakland, California - Mosswood
The trash, abandoned chairs, mattresses, and other debris have piled up on Webster under 580 again. There is a dead cat rotting on the west side of Webster, north of the underpass. All of this is making the heavily traveled pedestrian and bike route very unpleasant.
