This new concept for MLK St. is a frustrating boondoggle of an idea. I find myself learning to avoid this road at all cost. It used to be a smooth option for traffic flow but now a backed up mess. Please consider returning it to its original traffic flow.
  • 1859 Weedon Drive Northeast Saint Petersburg, Florida - St. Petersburg
I am totally amazed that the canoe trail at Weedon Island is CLOSED because "Follow-The-Numbers" from #1 to #36 is somehow a dangerous concept for people to follow! Government bureaucracy claims that there has to be some form of standardization for people to get in a paddle boat and go from #1 to #2, take a breath - then go onto to #3 and so on. Really? You close the canoe trail because a simple number system is too complicated?! Try a sign like the one attached...Oh wait a minute, the one ATTACHED is a Weedon trail sign. Wow, just wow.

This old dilapidated building on the corner of 39th Ave N. and 4th St. N. has sat empty since the old Durango Steak House closed probably 12 to 15 years ago. The windows show signs of leaking, the walls are cracking, roof tiles are failing. I can't imagine it being habitable for any use other than rats and roaches. It has been a complete eyesore for many years.

The dog drinking stations are a disaster of a mess. Just throwing some large rocks down does NOT solve the issue. It only gives cause to bacteria and disease. I know there are much better ways to provide water for the dogs. Just repeat what you did at Lake Vista Dog Park off of 62nd Ave. S. BOOM, problem solved. Come on already.

    Abandoned, unkempt property. Overgrown yard.
  • 3918 Arkansas Ave Ne Saint Petersburg, Florida - Shore Acres Civic Association
Water leaking out of the ground running over curb into the sewer drain. Has a City of St Petersburg barricade over it; has been running 24/7 for the last several weeks. It appears someone forgot to come back and fix it after putting the barricade over it.

Good sized pothole has been forming for weeks at the SE corner of the intersection of 1st St NE and 40th Ave. NE.. Needs filling before it ruins someones suspension.

This intersection is crazy many times during the day and night. The stripes painted in the road have faded so they are just a faint image of what used to be. The white stripes painted to show where no traffic is supposed be (seen in the graphic) is but a joke. Make those stripes about 2" high in painted asphalt and it is sure to get some attention. The traffic North from Arkansas (where a stop sign is ignored) cruises right out into the road like nobodies business. The traffic coming West on Connecticut and East on Connecticut has to slam the brakes to keep from hitting the stop sign runner. Also, the traffic from 40th Ave. N.E. onto Arkansas/Connecticut seems to think they have to gun it to make it through the curve. (Feel free to park in my driveway and write tickets all day long. I'll even spring for coffee and donuts!) But meanwhile, please come out and paint new stripes like you just bought the stuff for pennies on the dollar. Thanks.

This huge cherry laurel tree was knocked over during Hurricane Irma back on September 11th. It was rooted on City property at the very edge of the alley between 5th Ave. N. and 4th Ave. N. It actually fell against a residents house. It fell over from City property but is still there almost two months later. When is the City going to remove this tree that is rooted on City property?

This depression in the road is getting worse. If you don't know it is there and slow WAY down it feels like your suspension was left behind. It is actually a previous patch in the road that has settled into a deep depression.

When is work going to begin on the 40th Ave. N.E. bridge? Barricades were put up to funnel traffic but no other work.

These folks often park their vehicles in the yard and now one of them got stuck and the wheels tore big holes in the yard. It is unsightly and detracts from the neighborhood.

Next to where the Downtown Pier used to be is an abandoned sunken sailboat. It does have an orange float marker with it, but it has been there for months. Why has it not been removed from navigable waters?

There is a huge piling washed up next to the seawall where locals use the water access for fishing. It washed up with the wind and tide and will wash out again very soon. An unsuspecting boater will be driving along and hit this damaging his boat and motor. It will take a truck with a winch to retrieve it from where the road and seawall meet.

Fix dog parks: The dog parks at Vinoy and Crescent Lake are in terrible condition and should be made to closer resemble the beautiful dog park at Bay Vista on 62nd Ave. S. and 16th St. S. The difference between the condition, amenities, and beauty is staggering.

Apparently there needs to be prominent signs placed at the Crescent Lake Dog Park advising certain dog owners to monitor and stop their dogs aggressive behavior towards other dogs. There is going to be a nasty fight there when it picks on the wrong dog.

Abandoned property has been sitting for years, un-maintained pool is full of green algae water. Every evening the mosquitoes are busy. It looks like the property is bank owned; they should drain the pool regularly or maintain it properly to avoid a colony of mosquitoes.
  • 4035 Alabama Ave. N.E. St. Petersburg/Pinellas, Florida - Shore Acres Civic Association
The property at 4035 Alabama Ave. N.E. has been abandoned for over 5 years. The pool in the back has a 2 x 4 frame over it with plastic sheeting covering it. When it rains water pools on the sheeting and the empty pool has standing water in it. There is also a dilapidated shed falling down which is a rodent haven.

This house has sat empty for 6 or 7 years. The shed in the back is rotted and falling down. The shed is also built right on top of the property line, and the pool is a harborage for insects. Zika virus anyone?! The fence across the back is leaning and dilapidated, and a pile of brush next to the shed likely housing rodents.
