  • Lamberton Street And Arthur Street New Haven, Connecticut - Hill
    Alder Johnny Dye is requesting that Stop Signs be installed on Lamberton Street (in both directions) near the intersection of Arthur Street. He states that since C-Town Supermarket has a small loading dock, several large trucks can be seen parked on Lamberton Street for long periods of time delivering items. These trucks block the view of oncoming traffic, making it a major safety concern for vehicles and pedestrians. Please alert us of your plans to address this. Thank you.

    Constituents called to complain about mattresses and other trash dumped on Sherman Parkway near the corner of Harding Place. We doubt that an appointment was made for bulk trash pickup near this site as the mattresses have been sitting there for weeks. We are requesting that the mattresses and trash be removed promptly.     Constituents’ called to complain about trash dumped on Lloyd Street. They stated that there is a large pile of trash, including furniture items, on the sidewalk on Lloyd Street next to the property at 156 Wolcott Avenue. We are not sure if an appointment was made for bulk trash pickup near this site as the trash has been sitting there for days. We are requesting that the trash be removed promptly.     A constituent is requesting that a City trash can be installed at the bus stop in front of 516-518 Dixwell Avenue. The constituent has complained that people waiting for the bus often leave trash at the bus stop. He stated that there used to be a City trash can but it was removed and now there is always trash in that area. He added that he made an effort to put a trash can himself, but was ticketed by the City. The bus pulls-up right at the driveway of 516-518 Dixwell Avenue, so the constituent is requesting that the City install a trash can before the driveway.     Many vehicles can be seen speeding on Rosewood Avenue and there is a growing concern for vehicle and pedestrian safety, especially children. STOP signs and WATCH FOR CHILDREN signs are needed for traffic calming measures and to alert vehicles that there are children walking and/or playing in the area.

    Multiple potholes, large and small, all throughout Lloyd Street, especially in the area between Chapel Street & Grand Avenue. Potholes are not only causing damages to cars and tires, but can also lead to accidents as cars swerve to avoid them. Please patch them up as soon as possible. Thanks

    Most of Russell Street currently does not have any sidewalks. Residents are forced to walk on the street near vehicles passing by. This is a cause for concern as both adult and children have to share the street with vehicles. Also, the small portion of sidewalk that we do have on Russell Street needs repair.

    Sidewalks are needed on all of Russell Street for pedestrian safety.

    The entire street along Hemingway (between Quinnipiac Ave and Eastern Street) is in very poor shape. These conditions cause problems for vehicles driving on this road. Street paving is needed to improve road safety.
