• 101 Harrison Street New Haven, Connecticut - Westville
Following the recent snow and ice storms UI and Comcast came and cut branches that were laying on wire. They put then in front of our house, 101 Harrison and on the lawn of 106-109 Harrison. The branches are still there and make it difficult to park in front of our house. Is there a plan for the removal of these branches?

Residents of the part of Harrison Street north of Whalley have moved all cars from the north end of the block. It will be easy to plow and give residents room to park again.

  • Blake Street between Whalley and Valley, New Haven, Connecticut - West Rock
Because of snow in the right turn lane, cars are getting very backed up on the west side of Blake. The right turn lane is almost completely covered with snow.
While I'm at it, thanks to all the hard working road crews who have been working on our streets. Much appreciated!!
  • Harrison Street And Whalley Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Westville
When coming from the northern part of Harrison Street and trying to make a left turn onto Whalley Ave. or cross Whalley to Harrison St, the light does not turn green. Traffic stops for a left turn for cars going west on Whalley and does not turn green for vehicles trying to go straight or make a turn. This problem has been reported on numerous previous occasions. It will work for a short period of time and then reverts to the same problem.

The tree in front of the post office on Fountain Street where Harrison St. comes in blocks the traffic light and people frequently go through the red light.

  • 165 Alden Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Westville
Once again there was street sweeping on Alden Ave. without signs. The street in front of my house has not been swept once all season because there is always a car (not mine) parked in front of the house. Without signs or some kind of notification or car towing this situation will continue to be a problem. There are quite a few people in this area that can only park on the street. If alternate side of the street parking was posted we would have clean streets in front of all of the houses.
  • Alden Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Westville
Today the trucks were out street sweeping. There were NO signs put up on Alden Ave. There were cars parked on the street in various places, including in front of my house. So, the sweeping had no impact on the winter's accumulation of sand, etc. This is a problem that has been happening frequently over the years. Why bother sweeping if no signs are put up before the sweeping is done?

  • Edgewood Ave New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood
At the entrance to Edgewood Park, just after the divided median ends, a mattress and box spring were dumped.
  • Alden Ave At Fountain St. New Haven, CT - Westville
The light that effects traffic and pedestrian movement for the intersection of Fountain St, Alden Ave, Harrison St. and Philip St. has been operating very slowly since the new lights were put in. It is not unusual for vehicles on Alden and Harrison to wait 3-5 minutes for the light to change even when there is not traffic on Fountain Street. I will also call the Transportation, Traffic, and Parking Dept. about this.
