Passyunk Ave. & Wharton St Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
We haven't had street cleaning in a decade.....yet the signs remain confusing visitors and would be home buyers. Just had a showing yesterday where the buyer did not want to live on a street where they would have to move there car twice a week......
Also the no parking sign at Passyunk & Wharton is set about 30 feet back from the corner. No reason for this. Again, ten plus years ago there was a lot where an auto body shop parked cars and needed access. Now it is a garden with no need to restrict parking. these outdated signs are ugly and confusing. They need to be removed.
1356 E Passyunk Ave Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk SquareSo going on 4 weeks now that the lights on this intersection have been malfunctioning. All directions are bad, but the lights for Passyunk Ave. are really bad. allow only 1 car to go before changing over to yellow. green light lasts literally 5-10 seconds. timing needs to be fixed. people are starting to ignore light and run read.......in all directions. this is already a bad intersection due to it being a 5 way.
Wharton St Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
There is a house on the North side of Wharton street, one lot East of 9th that has been abandoned for years.
The weeds in front of the house are about 2 feet high. The weeds and the stairway are a dumping ground for garbage mainly from customers of Pat's & Genos. It's utterly disgusting to have something like this right next to a major tourist draw.
Recently windows have been broken and then boarded up. Rats are being attracted to the mess out side and are routinely seen running out from the stairway.
Illegal parking Archived9th & Wharton Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk SquareThe building on the South East Corner of 9th & Wharton is undergoing construction. The contractor is illegally blocking off two parking spaces using construction garbage. Parking in this area is already at a minimum due to Pat's & Geno's. If they need the space for their trucks or a dumpster there is a protocol to follow in order for the spots to be officially blocked off. I will upload a photo later tonight.

Broken Sewer Line Archived1306 S. 8th St Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk SquareThere is a vent in the sidewalk that shooting up water that smells like the sewer. It looks like the connection to the street may have broken. the west side of 8th street is filled with water and has been since before Christmas. the vent appears to be in front of 1306 south 8th st. this property is up for sale and may be vacant.
Sink hole Archived800 Wharton St. Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk SquareI reported a sink hole to the streets department 10 months ago. The manhole for the sewer at the intersection of 8th and Wharton is sinking. Streets department came out and put a steel plate over it. Those steel panels are supposed to be temporary (no more than a week) it has been 10 months and with the 47 bus driving over it the plate is starting to move. This can cause some serious damage to a car or create an accident should that plate give way while being driven over.

1356 E Passyunk Ave Philadelphia, PA 19147, USA - Passyunk SquareA black Chevy Avalanche belonging to someone at AutoShow Collision center is parked daily in the crosswalk at Reed and Passyunk. He treats it as his own private parking space. This is an incredibly dangerous intersection to begin with since it has three roads intersection at this point, but the truck creates a blind spot and makes it impossible to cross safely with little children or a stroller.
