Downed wire. There's a downed wire on the corner of Foster and North Bank Streets. It does not appear to be an electrical wire but more likely it's a fiber or internet service cable. It's dangling in the middle of North Bank Street though and the next vehicle that drives by will surely pull it down further.

Dumped mattress. Right onto the now-reopened English Drive from the end of Orange Street. Thrown down toward the Mill River side.

There are multiple orange sofas dumped off of Farnam Drive down toward the Mill River side. The closure of Farnam Drive (which I'd love to see made permanent!) has definitely resulted in a decrease in illegal dumping here, but it clearly hasn't eliminated it entirely. Some dumping prevention suggestions: (1) how about more substantial barricades at the end of Orange Street and East Rock Road, as these sofas clearly had to have been driven here to be dumped and (2) what a perfect opportunity to install cameras right at the corners of Orange Street and Farnam Drive. Ditto East Rock Road and Farnam Drive. This would have caught the loaded vehicles going through the barricade, most likely overnight. For those who have read my similar posts in the past, this is not the first time that cameras have been suggested.

The trash cans on the summit of East Rock Park are full and overflowing, blowing trash over the summit. Please empty promptly and with the nice Spring weather consider increasing the frequency of emptying them. Thank you.

The state-of-the-art flashing pedestrian crosswalk crossing lights at Audubon and Whitney wasn't working yesterday. Not sure if it's been reported elsewhere.

    The illegal dumping has returned.

There is a large tree limb that came down during Isaias that has still not been picked up. I'm not sure if it was missed the first go-around (yeoman's work with the initial cleanup!) or if it fell off the truck. It is in Foster street.

Several large tree limbs blocking Foster Street between Canner and Mitchell. Barely passable.

Blatant red light running. No enforcement. I was just crossing the busy Church/Whitney/Grove intersection during the busy downtown pedestrian lunchtime rush hour and watched two vehicles blatantly run the red light DURING THE PEDESTRIAN-ONLY CROSSING PHASE! It's totally unacceptable what we let drivers get away with in this town. How about some targeted enforcement here?

WHERE IS THE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT!? I just watched a silver BMW blatantly run through the red light at full, excessive speed heading northeast on Church/Whitney across Grove Street WHILE THE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING PHASE was lit! This is during the lunchtime rush hour. Drivers are doing this because they don't see enforcement being done. Come on New Haven!

LOST DOG! This cute little fella was found Halloween evening outside of Yale’s Payne Whitney Gym. Please spread the word. f you know of someone looking for this dog, we’re going to call the NH Animal Shelter and bring him there.

Red light OUT southbound on Orange Street at Trumbull. This is a busy intersection, especially at rush hour!

Where are the in-street pedestrian crossing signs that we fought so long and hard for? They’re not a panacea, but drivers are even worse where they’re NOT here.

The public trash cans are not being emptied frequently enough. #gscia

Please repair/replace the in-street pedestrian sign here. There are a lot of people out enjoying the canal trail on a nice summer day. (I tried a DIY repair but it didn’t hold.)

Overflowing trash cans in the pavilion area of East Rock Park’s College Woods. Animals are breaking into all the loose trash and spreading garbage all over the park. This is now happening EVERY weekend! I took this photo on Sunday morning, so the additional trash of an another entire day of weekend park visitors still needs to be accommodated. It’s a mockery of to all of us who work hard to keep our parks and public space clean. Our Youth at Work just spent all summer laboring to pick up trash in the park. Mayor Harp, Becky Bombero, what are you going to do to address this ongoing problem? The status quo is unsustainable and unacceptable.

Another TERRIBLE job with the post 4th of July fireworks show cleanup in East Rock Park! Once again this year the summit of Indian Head is littered with plastic and cardboard fireworks detritus. Why is this allowed to happen ever year? Who is in charge of negotiating the fireworks contract?

Welcome to Wilbur Cross High School! Trashed. Why does New Haven do so little to discourage littering and dumping? #gscia
