Wasps! Aggressive swarming wasps have infested a large Verizon device hanging on the utility line just feet from our back deck and our neighbor's patio.

I cannot find a contact for Verizon online. They keep requiring me to enter my account info, and I don't have a Verizon account. So can the city please coordinate to have the device exterminated ASAP?

At SW corner of Lincoln Park, the northbound walk/don't walk signal on the west side of 11th St is not working.

This is particularly dangerous because the signal for crossing the first half of the street IS working, but is not synchronized to the non-working signal. So without the broken signal, it sometimes appears as though pedestrians have a walk signal when actually the turning traffic has the green.

Utility box is in disrepair. Frequently wires exposed. Box doesn't lock, so utility workers (Comcast?) have wrapped with duct tape.

I can't recall the exact location, but saw a damaged traffic light on North Carolina SE, around the 800 or 900 block. The signal in question is on south side of North Carolina facing northeast.

I've been requesting for months now that the garbage cans without lids in my alley be removed. They were definitely breeding mosquitos. Now I'm seeing rats. Three rats spotted today in alley right by garbage cans. PLEASE COME DISPOSE OF THESE UNCOVERED GARBAGE CANS. And anything else you can do for the rat problem.

I previously requested cleaning, and some junk and broken trash/recycling containers were removed. Thanks!

There are still two problems remaining.

First, there are at least two containers that appear to be abandoned (I haven't seen them touched in weeks or months) and that have no lids. So they collect rain and will be breeding havens for mosquitos. Can you please remove these! The mosquitos are intolerable here in the summer!

In the process, please don't dump the garbage water in the alley! Our back yards are right there, and it makes the yards stink for days.

Second, why are residents and trash collectors leaving the cans across the alley? They should be next to the residences. With them across the alley, they are blocking access to the rented garage spaces, are visible from the back windows of the residences, and are generally in disarray. Please have the trash collectors put the cans on the side of the alley by the residences, and not in front of the garage doors. They may not realize this, but the garage building in the alley is completely separate from the residences on 14 Street. So the current configuration has trash of the 14th Street residences blocking other people's private property.

    Thanks

The electrical box at this intersection (which appears to be a controller box for traffic lights?) is squeezing loudly like it has a fan with a bad or loose belt, or has a bad bearing. It is right in front of the church. Would appreciate this being addressed.

My alley (starting in behind 16 Fourteenth St and continuing north to end of alley) looks like a cesspool, and has for weeks. Several of the open broken garbage cans are now full of water and a potential mosquito breeding ground.

One neighbor discussed that in the past some people have dumped over these cans full of water and they made the back yards smell like trash and maggots for days (and presumably polluted the storm sewer). So please pump out or otherwise take the water to put in a sanitary sewer to be treated.

Please remove all rubbish and remove all broken garbage cans (they are apparently abandoned, since they haven't moved in weeks or months).

Please also advise residents to keep cans by their property, and not in the middle or across the alley.

When traveling northbound on 395 in DC, the exit sign for Mass Ave is not positioned correctly. Drivers cannot see the sign until AFTER there is no longer any legal way to get into or out of the exit lanes. The sign should be moved about a half mile south, or an additional sign should be installed a half mile south. The current configuration causes many drivers to drive across medians and solid lines to get where they want to go. Alternatively, law abiding drivers face significant confusion and inconvenience.
